When he didn't say anything after a minute, Laleen turned nervous as she resorted to explaining while still embarrassed.
"I haven't eaten anything since this morning you see. I can't find Auntie either."
When he didn't respond, she pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes at him.
"You know what, forget it!" She snapped at him. He was staring at her like he couldn't believe how silly she was. She was just hungry!
"Thank you" he replied with a relieved sigh at her words for him to forget. Shane didn't even want to think about it.
She was hungry, so what? Did she want him to cook for her?
Laleen clutched her stomach as her lips twisted in self-pity.
"How are you so cruel?" She lamented.
At her question, his lips broke into a flattered smile.
"I appreciate your compliment" he thanked her and Laleen's eyes widened before she gritted her teeth.
