Mafia Crisis part 23

[Chapter 27.]

[Faraday.]

[I am God!]

[The next day.]

[The Field.]

Outside we can see a large crowd of adventures.

They are in the same field as before.

They stand amongst each other, ready to complete this challenge.

Henryzx900 leaves his sword and watch inside the castle, nullifying his LE presence.

Chang, Rosaria, and Zigzag all stand together, aware of what will happen.

Stacia and Astrolaris hide in the nearby folly, ready to attack at any moment.

The announcer explains how this trial, despite not being the last, will be the greatest.

He then says it's going to test every bone in your body.

Rosaria says

"He's making this out to be some kind of death trial."

"Is it that harsh?"

Zigzag responds with

"I heard only 6 people make it out of each trial."

"This is super dangerous."

The announcer stands on his box and says

"The Doom trials shall begin!"

"After a brief explanation of what it entails."

"Contestants will be placed in a large dungeon."

"This dungeon reaches 60 feet underground."

"Your goal is to reach floor 50 the fastest."

"However, every 5 floors there will be a Mini boss."

"Every 10 floors there will be a stage boss."

"Each floor section has its theme and different monsters."

"Rewards will be randomly spread out between the floors."

"Medical help will be provided if needed."

"Shops are on floors 15 and 35."

"Buy what you need then."

"Good luck."

Lando hears all of this and says

"Well, glad I'm not an adventurer."

"I don't think I can survive this."

Lopa says

"Hm."

"This does seem hard."

"We must keep our eyes peeled."

"They could be anywhere."

[Later…]

Astrolaris says

"I want to follow him but we have to stay back."

"We must wait for them to attack us."

Stacia says

"Indeed we must! But what shall we do until then?"

Astrolaris says

"Hm? A Grand dragon like me usually doesn't have time for fun."

"But I would like to ask you a question."

"What exactly were you doing in that cave?"

Stacia's face turns red.

She then says

"Nothing!"

"Absolutely Nothing!"

"Nothing!"

Astrolaris responds with

"I see."

"Nothing happened."

"You don't have to tell me."

"You would want those things kept secret, especially with a loved one."

"I understand."

Stacia says

"Thank you."

Astrolaris says

"I heard something."

As she gets up and uses her detection skills, a mafia comes in and paralyzes Stacia.

Stacia uses her willpower to resist the bullet.

Astrolaris quickly finds the mafia and pins him down.

Astrolaris says

"Tell me where the others are!"

He keeps silent.

Astrolaris then punches a hole directly into his stomach.

It isn't enough to kill him but it does heavily harm him.

He then spills the beans as Astrolaris repairs his body.

Astrolaris then puts him down and ties him up to a rock.

She then leaves to go find the rest of the enemies.

[Later…]

[Floor 3]

As you descend the narrow, winding staircase, the air grows colder and more damp. The walls around you are rough-hewn stone, slick with moisture, and the faint, distant sound of dripping water echoes through the darkness. At the bottom of the stairs, you step onto the dungeon floor.

The ground beneath your feet is uneven and treacherous, composed of large, ancient flagstones cracked and worn from centuries of neglect. In some places, the stones have shifted or collapsed, leaving gaps that reveal the dark, earthy soil below. Patches of slick moss and mold cling to the stones, making every step precarious.

Faint light filters in from the flickering torches mounted on the walls, casting eerie, dancing shadows that seem to come alive. The air is heavy with the smell of decay and the earthy scent of damp stone and mold. You can hear the skittering of small creatures in the dark corners, and every so often, a distant growl or hiss sends a shiver down your spine.

Scattered across the floor are remnants of past adventurers: broken weapons, rotting wooden shields, and scraps of tattered clothing. Bones, some human and some belonging to other, less identifiable creatures, lie in disordered piles, gnawed clean by whatever predators lurk in the depths.

The atmosphere is thick with an ominous sense of foreboding. You can feel eyes watching you from the shadows, and you know that danger is never far away. This floor is home to monsters—creatures that thrive in the dark and feed on those who dare to enter their domain.

In the center of the chamber, there is a particularly large and deep fissure on the floor, from which a faint, acrid smell emanates. The sound of growling grows louder as you approach, and you realize this is the lair of one of the dungeon's guardians. The creature's eyes glint menacingly from the darkness of the pit, and you can see the glimmer of sharp, wet teeth as it moves closer to the edge, ready to defend its territory from intruders.

[Floor 3]

Faraday: We skipped to floor 3 as by this time they had already cleared the other floors.

Faraday: Another narrator has agreed to lend some help.

[Later…]

Chang Nam Woo, Rosaria, and Zigzag advanced cautiously through the dank corridors of the underground dungeon, their footsteps echoing softly off the stone walls.

The air was thick with tension, each of them alert to the dangers lurking in the shadows.

Chang Nam Woo led the way, his keen eyes scanning the darkness for any sign of movement. His grip on his sword was firm, but it was his other hand, which crackled with latent explosive energy, that promised destruction to any foe foolish enough to challenge him.

With each step, he exuded an aura of raw power, ready to unleash devastating explosions at a moment's notice.

Rosaria followed closely, her chainmail clinking softly with each step. She held her longbow with ease, her quiver filled with arrows blessed by her goddess. Rosaria's faith was a beacon in the gloom, and her archery skills were unparalleled.

She could hit a target from incredible distances, her arrows striking with unerring accuracy and divine might.

Zigzag, the speedster, brought up the rear. His steps were silent, and he seemed to blur with each movement.

Able to run billions of times faster than light, Zigzag's speed was his greatest asset. He could traverse the entire dungeon in the blink of an eye, his mind processing information at an unimaginable rate.

His twin daggers glinted at his sides, ready for any close combat should the need arise.

The first encounter came swiftly. As they turned a corner, a group of goblins sprang from the darkness, their yellow eyes gleaming with malice.

With a shout, Nam Woo thrust his hand forward, releasing a burst of explosive energy.

The blast incinerated two goblins instantly, their cries cut short by the sheer force of the explosion.

Rosaria nocked an arrow and drew her bow, aiming with steady precision.

She released, and the arrow flew straight and true, piercing the heart of a goblin attempting to flee.

Her arrows struck like bolts of divine judgment, each one finding its mark with lethal efficiency.

Zigzag moved like a blur, his form almost invisible as he darted between the goblins.

His daggers flashed, and within moments, the remaining goblins lay defeated, their bodies sprawled across the cold stone floor.

[Later….]

Their journey continued, the dungeon's passages winding deeper into the ground.

[Later….]

The next challenge came in the form of a giant spider, its massive form descending silently from the ceiling.

Zigzag's warning shout came just in time, and the three scattered as the creature lunged.

Nam Woo's hand flared with explosive energy, and he hurled a blast at the spider.

The explosion tore off one of its legs, and the beast screeched in pain.

Rosaria loosed another arrow, this one tipped with holy fire, and it struck the spider's abdomen, causing it to writhe and thrash.

Zigzag moved faster than the eye could follow, darting onto the spider's back.

He drove his daggers into its eyes, twisting the blades deeper until the monster collapsed, twitching, to the ground.

Rosaria says

"We need to keep moving!"

She keeps her voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins.

Nam Woo and Zigzag nodded, and they pressed on.

The final challenge of the floor loomed ahead.

A deep fissure split the chamber, and from its depths emerged a ghastly creature, its eyes glowing with malevolent intelligence.

The guardian of this floor, a fearsome wraith, floated above the ground, its ethereal form shifting and flickering.

Nam Woo stepped forward, his sword raised and his other hand pulsing with explosive power. |

He then says

"Stay behind me."

The wraith let out a bone-chilling wail and surged towards them. Nam Woo met it head-on, unleashing a massive explosion that rocked the chamber.

The wraith's form shimmered and flickered, but Nam Woo's strikes were true, each one weakening the creature's hold on this realm.

Rosaria nocked an arrow infused with divine light and aimed carefully.

She released, and the arrow flew through the air, striking the wraith and causing it to shriek in agony.

The light seemed to burn the very essence of the creature, its form becoming more unstable.

Zigzag circled the wraith, moving faster than any creature could perceive. With a swift, practiced motion, he hurled a vial of holy water at the creature.

The vial shattered on impact, the blessed liquid sizzling as it touched the wraith's ghostly form.

In a final, desperate attack, Nam Woo lunged, his sword piercing the heart of the wraith.

Rosaria's light flared brightly, and with a final, ear-piercing scream, the wraith dissolved into nothingness.

Breathing heavily, the trio stood victorious. The chamber was silent once more, save for the faint sound of their breathing.

[Later….]

Chang Nam Woo, Rosaria, and Zigzag stood in the now silent chamber, catching their breath after their hard-fought victory over the wraith.

The faint glow of Rosaria's divine light slowly faded, leaving them in the dim, flickering torchlight once more.

As they turned to leave, a sudden, sharp sound echoed through the dungeon—like the crack of a whip or a gunshot.

Nam Woo barely had time to react before a bullet whizzed past his head, embedding itself in the stone wall behind him.

Emerging from the shadows, a group of mafia thugs armed with guns and knives surrounded them, their faces hardened and cruel.

The Mafia leader walks up and says

"Orders were to capture or kill 3 party members."

"Kill the two males."

He then makes a disgusting look at Rosaria.

"I have something special for her."

Chang Nam Woo stepped forward, his hand already crackling with explosive energy.

Chang then says

"You'll regret this!"

he growled, eyes narrowing as he prepared to defend his friends.

Rosaria quickly nocked an arrow, her keen eyes tracking the movements of the thugs.

She released, and the arrow flew true, striking one of the attackers in the chest and dropping him instantly.

As soon as Zigzag was about to attack—--

[!]A Goddess Level Being has appeared![!]

All that can be seen is a girl in a coat.

Who is she?

The Second Romanov.
