Clash of words

@DaoistpQ5B3Z Thank you for the gift.

I felt a flush creep up my cheeks at his words, a mixture of embarrassment and irritation coursing through me. "You're delusional if you think that," I shot back, but even as the words left my mouth, I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that he might be right.

As we sat there, locked in our familiar dance of wit and resistance, I couldn't help but wonder where our relationship was headed. Whatever the future held, one thing was certain: Benjamin had a way of keeping me on my toes, and try as I might to resist, I found myself inexplicably drawn to him.

My hands trembled as I adjusted the straps of my dress, my gaze fixed on Benjamin's indifferent expression.

"Okay, you win. Can I dress up now?"

He turned to live quietly, this time with a nod.

Benjamin's nod felt like a dismissal, and as I dressed myself, I stepped outside.
