Chapter 63

Today was the day. July 3. I wasn't worried because I didn't have time to think about anything but cars. Since it was the day before the July 4 holiday, Sunray's was slammed.

Boxy and I were doing backflips over each other to get from one car to the next. The backflips probably weren't a very good use of our time, but oh well.

I dialed up my friendliness with customers in case they decided to murder me later on because the credit card machine didn't work or something. Boxy was his usual charming self. Studmuffin, as always, went above and beyond with his gorgeous cookie butter cheesecake.

Oh, and just kidding about the backflips. Or am I?

Other than the overcast sky and gusty wind, it felt like a normal, murder-free summer day. So far.
