Chapter 178: Urashiki
Uchiha Sasuke had arrived in this timeline for one reason — to prevent Urashiki from interfering with the past. In his own world, only he and Naruto had the power to fight on equal ground with an Otsutsuki. The other shinobi, whether they were seasoned Jonin or even Kage, stood no chance. Against an Otsutsuki, ordinary strength was simply not enough.
Naruto had to protect their future, while Sasuke had taken it upon himself to ensure that no remnants of the Otsutsuki threat remained. So he's using the Dragon Vein to return to the past after hearing from Naruto that he had once returned to the past to save Roran and coincidentally meeting with his father.
But after Ryumyaku sucked both him and Boruto, this thing is actually not sending him back to the past instead, it was in a different universe.
However, of all the things he expected, what surprised him most in this alternate timeline was the intermarriage between clans. Despite being a different universe, the thought of a Hyuga marrying into the Uchiha felt completely foreign to him. In his timeline, such a union would be unheard of.
"This is my son," Setsuna said as he gestured toward a young man standing beside him. "Uchiha Hizashi."
The boy turned toward the guest, his expression calm and composed. He then bowed respectfully.
"Nice to meet you, Uncle…"
"Uchiha Sasuke," Sasuke introduced himself in his usual, quiet tone.
"Yes, Uncle Sasuke. It's an honor," Hizashi replied with a nod.
Sasuke gave him a rare smile. There was something about this boy — not just in his manners, but in the way his chakra felt. It reminded him of both strength and peace this is because Hizashi is the only son that received a template system. So his action and strength is more like Namikaze Minato.
Turning back to Setsuna, Sasuke asked the question that had been lingering in his mind since his arrival.
"Why did the Uchiha migrate to Uzushiogakure?"
Setsuna folded his arms and answered in a calm voice. "Because of Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Izuna. They both left the village. To ensure the clan's survival, I, along with my student Uchiha Kagami, chose to leave Konoha and seek refuge in Uzushiogakure.
"Here, we rebuilt our clan from the shadows" Then setsuna stopped and he continued. "No, this was not something hidden. We did it openly. It would be more accurate to say we created a new branch of the clan in the light."
Sasuke remained silent. This was drastically different from his own world, where the Uchiha had stayed in Konoha, unwilling to abandon their comfort safe, even if it meant being watched, distrusted, and eventually pushed to the edge.
Setsuna observed him closely and noticed the subtle shift in his gaze. There was something deep in Sasuke's eyes, a flicker of sorrow, perhaps regret.
"You looked emotional when you saw the Uchiha here," Setsuna said softly. "Tell me, what happened to the Uchiha Clan in your future?"
Sasuke's expression hardened. The question hit him unexpectedly. He averted his gaze for a moment, collecting his thoughts before answering with a heavy voice.
"In my timeline, Uchiha Madara left the village. But the rest of the Uchiha chose to remain in Konoha," Sasuke revealed, his tone heavy with unspoken memories.
Setsuna narrowed his eyes slightly. "And what of Izuna?"
Sasuke hesitated for a second didn't expect Setsuna asked him about Izuna who he only heard but never saw him before. "He died before Konoha was even founded."
A long silence fell between them.
"I see," Setsuna finally said. "That means our universes diverged from that point. In your timeline, Izuna's death was the root of change. That event must have shifted everything."
Sasuke nodded slowly. He understood now. This wasn't just another timeline. This was a version of reality where a single life, spared or lost, shaped the future in ways he had never imagined. No wonder Setsuna felt different. No wonder this world looked unfamiliar. It all began with Izuna.
---Naruto Had A Family---
While Sasuke and Setsuna continued their conversation, Boruto had already followed Naruto to the home of Namikaze Kirito.
As students of Setsuna, Kirito and his family lived in one of the best houses in Uzushiogakure. The building stood tall with a modern architectural design, complete with electricity, clean running water, and a proper drainage system. It was unlike anything Boruto had expected to find in this timeline. No this house is even better than Boruto house.
For Naruto, this visit was more than just a casual stop. It was the first time he met his father, Namikaze Minato, face-to-face—and also his grandmother, Miyawaki Asuko. His eyes welled with tears the moment he saw them. Meanwhile, Boruto couldn't hide his excitement as he looked between his legendary grandfather and his great-grandmother.
Naruto had never known the warmth of a family growing up. The only time he truly felt a sense of belonging was when he married Hinata and started a family of his own. But the Naruto standing here now was still young, unmarried, and carried the loneliness of a childhood without love.
Kirito noticed the emotion swelling in Naruto expression and gently placed a hand on his forehead to comfort him.
"Naruto, this is my son—Namikaze Minato," Kirito said softly.
"Hi! My name is Uzumaki Naruto, and I'm gonna become Hokage someday!" Naruto introduced himself with a bright smile, trying to push past his emotions.
"As my father mentioned, I'm Namikaze Minato," Minato replied with a smile of his own.
"Don't forget about me! I'm Uzumaki Boruto!" Boruto added cheerfully.
Watching the three of them connect so naturally, Kirito turned to his wife, knowing he couldn't keep the truth from her any longer. Thankfully, Miyawaki Asuko had only recently given birth to a daughter two months ago and wasn't currently pregnant—otherwise, the surprise might have been overwhelming.
"What? Are you saying… both of them are my grandchildren?" she asked, wide-eyed.
Kirito nodded. "Yes. According to Setsuna-sensei, they're part of our bloodline."
Asuko took a moment to absorb the shocking news, then slowly smiled, tears brimming in her eyes.
That night, the Namikaze family held a grand feast to welcome Naruto and Boruto into their home. Even if they had come from another universe and a different timeline, blood was blood. And to the Namikaze, family was family.
