Keeping the Doll Company

"What do you—" Evan tried to speak, but Eternity returned, holding a tray with a teapot and some cups. "Thank you, Eternity."

Eternity gave him a quick smile before placing the tea set on the coffee table.

"Would you like me to pour you some tea?" Eternity offered.

"I'll pour myself some later," Evan replied dismissively. "Thank you, though."

Eternity nodded at him before turning her gaze to Edelweiss. "How about you, Miss Roth?"

"Please do," she said, and Eternity began pouring her some tea. "Thank you, Miss Doll."

Once Eternity was done, she gave both of them a half-hearted smile and said, "If ever you need me, just call me," and left the room.

Once she disappeared from sight, Edelweiss leaned closer and spoke in a hushed voice.

"She literally looks like a younger version of me," she pointed out. "I mean, I know I'm hard to forget, but you could've been more subtle, Evan."
