Chapter 010: His Gentleness_1

"Where are you planning to go?" A man walked in from outside, who else could it be but Jun Mochan?

"And where have you been?" Ye Ranran asked in the same tone.

For some reason, the unease and panic in her heart disappeared the moment she saw him.

"I went out to make a call and asked Mrs. Wu to bring some breakfast over." Jun Mochan went to her side, helping to tidy her slightly disheveled hair.

"Your foot is injured, try not to move around unnecessarily." Unlike his overbearing demeanor last night, his tone was now gentle, as if coaxing a petulant child.

Ye Ranran's momentum weakened instantly. This man seemed to always be able to pinpoint her weaknesses, leaving her defenseless.

"I just wanted to wash my face." Ye Ranran didn't want to admit that she intended to find him, so she dodged his gaze as she spoke.

"I'll take you there." Jun Mochan didn't expose her little trick, instead he took her hand and spoke in a decisive tone.

After washing her face, Mrs. Wu arrived just in time, and Ah Chuan also arrived with a pile of documents.

As soon as they reached the door, Jun Mochan headed out, saying, "Let's talk outside."

Ah Chuan immediately retreated.

Ye Ranran watched Jun Mochan's retreating figure and frowned, but ultimately said nothing.

As Jun Mochan looked at the results of the investigation in his hand, his gaze remained gentle, but the air around him gradually cooled, giving off an unexpected sense of danger.

"The Xie Family, they're in the catering business, right?"

"Yes, President," Ah Chuan answered.

Jun Mochan murmured a few instructions to Ah Chuan, who nodded repeatedly.

By the time Jun Mochan returned, Ye Ranran had finished eating.

"The remainder is yours," Ye Ranran pointed to the porridge in Mrs. Wu's hand.

Mrs. Wu was a little frightened, "Young Master, should I make some fresh porridge for you?"

She didn't know he was still staying here and had only prepared enough for one person.

"No need," Jun Mochan smoothly took the bowl of porridge from Mrs. Wu's hand.

He ate elegantly, like a Central European nobleman. Ye Ranran watched him in a daze.

From their initial encounter, hurried marriage, intimacy, and ongoing mutual support.

Having reached this point, she no longer had a way out.

Moreover, after what happened last night, she couldn't possibly back down.

After breakfast, Ye Ranran thought Jun Mochan would leave, but he unexpectedly sat down on the other side and started reading documents.

"If you're busy, you don't have to stay here to look after me. The doctor said I could walk by tomorrow," Ye Ranran glanced at the documents in his hand and said.

Jun Mochan lifted his gaze from the documents, his eyes boring into Ye Ranran, "Mrs. Jun, we're married, legally. It's my duty to take care of you when you're injured and hospitalized."

"But..."

"Even if I could hire someone, they wouldn't be as good as me being by your side."

His gentle voice, steadfast gaze, seemed to penetrate her facade, striking at the softest part of her heart.

"Why are you being so domineering," Ye Ranran quietly rebutted, using it as a cover for her inner turmoil.

She constantly reminded herself that Jun Mochan was being good to her out of responsibility, not love.

He said it himself, by marrying her, he had to take responsibility for her. It was certainly not out of love.

"You can rest. If you need anything, let me know," Jun Mochan returned his attention to the documents in his hand.

Having slept through the night, Ye Ranran was quite refreshed. It was just that moving around was inconvenient for her now, and from the looks of it, Jun Mochan wouldn't allow her to wander around freely.

She pursed her lips and resignedly lay down on the bed.
