Her eyes were still swollen from her previous tears, but they began to water again for a far different reason than before. She tried to pull away and hide her face from him. 

“Promise me,” she uttered. “Promise me I'll never be in the same room as him ever again.” 

His fist clenched and he had to control his anger. 

Quieter than before he whispered, “I promise.”

Synopsis: 
A tumultuous childhood made Sophia fight that much harder for peace in her adulthood. Yet it would take only one meeting to shatter the average life she led as a successful bakery owner in the center of New Vista. 

She found him on a pile of garbage in an alley, bleeding from a head wound. After taking him to the hospital, he woke up not knowing who he was. The hospital referred to him as “John Doe”.

While navigating her fresh breakup, the mystery man became her source of distraction and comfort. He has a far more tender and doting side than she ever expected. Is he only like this with her?

The longer he stayed by her side, the more change she noticed within herself. There’s an undeniable pull between the two of them. Call it instincts or attraction, it felt like something she couldn’t ignore. The more time they spend together, the stronger the pull becomes. 

When she finds out who he is, any shred of safety she had before seems to disappear as a target is put on her head.

The plans didn't move forward as expected.

Gus, Rachel, and Ethan waited in the hospital for word that their friend and the embryo inside her were doing alright. She had woken up but the doctors were concerned.

The blood test she had before leaving the hospital was only regarding the pregnancy. They only found when Sophia was readmitted that she had a few vitamin deficiencies. They couldn't comment on her weight or appearance without knowledge of her baseline.

The most worrying part was that she hadn't uttered a single word since she woke up. She looked to be in shock.

While Rachel and Ethan weren't aware of what had happened, Gus felt he knew why she had collapsed.

From the office on the first floor, Gus heard her hit the floor as he was sitting at a computer, trying to figure out how they were going to go forward if Luca were, in fact, dead.
