“Kaew, I’m here!”
A cheerful voice echoed as a slender young woman arrived, her radiant smile lighting up the makeshift battleground named “New Gate.”
Despite its fancy-sounding title, the venue was nothing more than a temporary fighting ring constructed from shabby canvas tents enclosing all four sides and lined with folding chairs. It bore an uncanny resemblance to a school sports day event. With such a high-budget setup, the number of spectators in this so-called arena barely reached double digits. Among them was Kaew, still donning her ridiculous disguise. She sat cross-legged in the front row, her expression thoroughly unimpressed as if she owned the tented area all by herself.
“You’re here?”
Her flat response matched her disinterested demeanor. The tone of her voice clearly conveyed she wasn’t in the mood for much conversation.
“W-why do you sound so down, Kaew?”
