CHAPTER EIGHT START OF THE ADVENTURE PART 4

Ben’s POV

What on earth are you doing?” she said.”

I came to make a delivery. My name is Bennett Travis, and I’m a delivery agent here on behalf of Miss Alya Mcay, a salesperson from Sunny Cosmetics. I am here to deliver this to one of our VIP clients, Mrs. Alicia Pattinson,” I replied.”

Oh, okay. But can you finish up with this act? I have things to do. Besides, how do you know Alya?” she asked.

I was about to give her an answer when I suddenly heard someone inside the mansion say, “Miss Kira, please, where are you? I have the juice you requested for.”

”I am at the door, just come over,” she said to the maid.

”Okay, ma’am,” the maid replied and came to the door, handing the juice over to her before leaving.

She took the juice from the maid and sipped it before turning back to me, “Sorry, you were saying?”

”Oh yes, Alya and I are best friends, and something came up, so she asked me to make this delivery in her place,” I replied.

”Okay, that’s it,” she said angrily and suddenly threw the juice that was in her hands on my clothes.

The minute the juice got on my clothes, I was really angry and wanted to know why this brat had splashed it at me. But before I could talk, I broke out in a rash, and my entire body began to itch, and from there, it turned into hives.

The itching worsened and became extremely painful, before I could process the pain, I began gasping for air and started getting dizzy. Eventually, everything went dark.

After some time, I woke up only to find myself lying on a huge bed in an enormous and beautiful room.

At this point, confusion overwhelmed me, but my memory of passing out resurfaced, causing immediate worry and panic. Just as panic was about to consume me, the door unexpectedly swung open.

It was the girl I had met earlier, but this time, her face was filled with concern.

She entered the room carrying a tray, that contained a bowl of water and a towel. Placing the tray on the nearby table, she dipped the towel into the hot water, wringing it out until it was damp, and gently placed it on my forehead.

”You’re finally awake. How are you feeling?” she asked softly, her voice filled with genuine concern.

I nodded, still feeling disoriented.

”What happened?” I managed to ask, my mind struggling to make sense of the situation. She sighed, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

”You were unconscious for five hours,” she replied. “You passed out on the doorstep, and I got scared. I asked a maid to help carry you to my room and called our family’s private doctor to examine you.

He determined that you had an allergic reaction triggered by the strawberries in the juice I threw on you. He gave you an allergy shot.

”I blinked, trying to process her words. “An allergic reaction to strawberries?” I repeated, realizing that I had never been aware of this allergy before.

She nodded, guilt evident in her eyes. “I shouldn’t have thrown the juice on you. It was a thoughtless act. Please forgive me.”

”It’s alright. I didn’t even know I was allergic to strawberries either, so don’t worry too much about it,” I reassured her, trying to ease her guilt.

Thank you for accepting my apology,” she said with gratitude, a huge smile on her face.

”Oh, that reminds me,” she began, “the doctor mentioned that you might have developed the allergy recently, which is why the reaction was so severe. He also advised you to go to the hospital for a proper checkup later.”

”I will,” I replied, reaching up to touch the cool towel on my forehead, feeling its soothing effect. “Thank you for taking care of me,” I said sincerely.

She smiled softly, her worry fading slightly. “It’s the least I could do after causing you harm.”

”It’s okay. I just have one question though,” I said, curiosity getting the better of me. “Why did you throw that juice on me?”

”Oh, that was totally my fault,” she admitted. “I mistook you for someone I knew. But after you fainted and dropped what you came to deliver, I realized my mistake.”

”How could you confuse me with someone else?” I asked, while not being able to remember wh the events that took place last month.”

You would be surprised,” she chuckled, teasingly.

Before I could inquire further, the sound of her room door opening interrupted us. Someone walked in and said,

“Hey Kira, can I borrow your laptop? I need to get the manuscript for the admission application.

”I turned to see who had entered the room, and my jaw dropped in disbelief. It was Ken.

What was he doing here? How did he know this girl? And I was pretty sure he just called her Kira.

I wasn’t the only one who was at a loss for words as Ken was also speechless when he saw me, but the girl suddenly stood up and said,

“Ken, what did I say about entering my room unannounced? Do you want to die?” She said it with a scary look on her face and immediately pushed him out of the room.

She then turned to me and said, “Sorry about that. Was Ken the reason all this happened?”

”I am sorry, what are you saying right now? I am so confused,” I replied, feeling overwhelmed by the situation.

”Oh, I see. Let me explain briefly. My name is Kira Pattinson, and my mum is the person whose order you came to deliver.

As for the numskull who just walked in, that’s Ken. He and I are close friends, and we have known each other for over six years now. He is the reason why I did what I did today.

”Earlier today, when you came to the house, I thought you were him pretending to be someone else, so I was annoyed. But when you said that you were best friends with Alya, I got mad because Alya is my friend. I don’t appreciate my friends being used for jokes,” she explained.

”Okay, first of all, you know my doppelganger, and you guys have been friends for more than six years, You also know my best friend Alya, and you are friends with her as well.

Wow, this is crazy,” I said, still trying to process everything.

”Wait a minute, how did you become friends with Alya?” I asked, curious to know more.

Kira then told me about how she met Alya when she came to make a delivery for her mum.

Her mum had personally requested Alya to deliver her products. She shared how they became friends and how they had talked over the phone and met in person during the deliveries.

After that, I asked her about Ken, and she told me everything I wanted to know.

In the end, we talked for over thirty minutes, during which she checked my temperature and then requested the maids to get me new clothes.

She insisted that I change, and although I initially refused, she persuaded me to do so.

I ended up changing in the changing room, which was a part of her amazing working closet.

After a few minutes, I emerged from the room wearing the clothes Kira had given me, which fit me perfectly.

We walked into the living room where Ken was waiting for us.

As soon as Ken saw us, he immediately stood up and asked how I had ended up in Kira’s room.

We filled him in on what had happened, and he asked if I was alright.

I reassured him that I was fine and then asked him about my messages and why he hadn’t replied to them.

Ken explained that he had gone on a trip last month with Kira and another friend, and he had accidentally left his phone at home.

I understood his situation and forgave him. After that, the three of us talked for a while, and Kira handed my things back to me.

After chatting with them for an extra thirty minutes, I suddenly received a call from Alya, who was asking about the delivery. I informed her that I had completed it and was already back home although it was a lie I told her that to prevent her from worrying about me.

Immediately after ending the call, I went to pick up the delivery and dropped it off with Kira.

We sorted out the document signing, and as I was about to leave, but Kira stopped me and requested my number.

We exchanged numbers and agreed to keep in touch. Then, I left.

Meanwhile, in the backstreets of Oakdale, some gangsters sat at the back of a restaurant, and

their boss approached. “Boys, we just received a new job.”
