CHAPTER 13: PROGRESS REPORT.
Gomez and his men returned to the Bishop Estate that evening. As they park the SUV at the usual spot, one of the men came down and opened the door for Gomez, bowing slightly as Gomez came down from the car.
Gomez walked through the entrance, heading straight to Mr Bishop's study, wearing an unpleasant look on his face.
On entering the living area, Gomez bumped into Frank, the Chief Steward, who was on his way to check on Justin.
Frank bowed his head as Gomez walked past him.
Seeing Gomez's demeanor, Frank could tell something unpleasant was up.
'Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be sorted out. Gomez is capable of handling any situation,' he said within himself, continuing to Justin's room.
Gomez stood before the door of the study. He took a deep breath in, and exhaled heavily. Then, he pressed onto a button on a control panel outside the study as he spoke into the mouth piece.
"Sir, it's Gomez."
Mr Bishop unlocked the door from his own end within the study, granting Gomez access. He went in immediately and bowed to Mr Bishop.
"So, what's the progress?" Mr Bishop asked.
"Well, with what was gathered from the informant, our suspicions were right. Someone amongst us, did leak the information to the Night Clan," Gomez replied.
Mr Bishop Leaned into his reclining chair, looking straight at Gomez, he asked, "Who could it be then?"
Gomez pondered for a bit, looking blankly into space.
"I strongly believe it'll be someone amongst the surveillance detail, like I had said, sir."
"You might actually be right about that," Mr Bishop concurred. "Go interrogate each and everyone of them, and find out who."
"Already on it sir," Gomez said bowing his head, as he hasted out of the study.
"Um, go check on Justin," Mr Bishop requested, swaying in his chair, causing Gomez to half abruptly.
"Alright sir," Gomez replied, continuing out of the study.
"Also, ask one of the attendants to get me some cup of coffee," Mr Bishop requested additionally.
"Alright sir."
Gomez gritted his teeth, holding back his frustration, as he rushed to do his boss's bidding.
Gomez found one of the house attendant who served in the kitchen and asked her to get Mr Bishop a cup of coffee, quickly.
She hurried to go get it done as Gomez went on to check up on Justin, heading straight to his room.
Reaching the door, he knocked once, but there was no response. He knocked a second time, and there was still no response.
"The young man hasn't gotten himself together?" he asked opening the door gently.
He got inside the room and found Justin asleep. He turned off some of the lights that where on in Justin's room
Immediately, he exited Justin's room and made his way to the sitting room. As he approached the sitting room, he called on one of the guards standing at the main entrance to the house.
The guard hurried towards Gomez and bowed slightly.
"Go get me the chief steward," Gomez ordered the guard.
"Yes sir," the guard replied as he adjusted his rifle, rushing to get the chief Steward.
Shortly after, Gomez sighted the guard returning to the sitting area, alone. He looked perplexed, wondering why the guard returned alone.
As the guard walked closer, Gomez noticed that the chief steward was behind the guard.
'This dude is bulky,' Gomez said within himself, and chuckled softly.
"Here he is, sir," the guard declared, as he returns to his duty post.
Frank bowed slightly. "You sent for me sir?"
"Yes," he replied. "I checked on Justin, and found him already asleep. Did you check up on him before he fell asleep?"
"Yes sir," Frank responded.
"Was he still restless?" Gomez asked.
"No he wasn't. I was able to get him freshen up," Frank replied. "Then he had lunch with Mr Bishop."
"Lunch with his father huh," Gomez voiced out.
"After his lunch, anything significant happened?" he asked.
"No, not really, I guess," Frank shrugged.
"Alright then. You can go back to what you were doing," Gomez dismissed him.
The chief Steward bowed and left Gomez in the sitting room. He got his phone from his suit pocket and made a call.
"Hello boss," a man from the other end of the phone responded.
"Tell everyone to meet me at the base, this evening," Gomez said.
"Alright sir," he answered, knowing whom Gomez referred to.
Gomez ended the call and headed out to the SUV parked outside. As Gomez approached the SUV, one of his men opened the door and he went in.
"Where to sir?" asked the driver.
"We're heading to base," he replied. The driver started the ignition and drove off.
As they headed there, he got his phone and put a call across to Mr Bishop.
_________
"The hell!"
Justin was startled from his restful sleep when his phone vibrated suddenly. A sharp pain surged through his head, making him wince in pain.
Before he gained composure, the call ended. As he got his phone to see who the caller was, the phone rang a second time. He saw that it was Alex who was calling him.
He was about to answer the call when he quickly recalled his father's counsel of not keeping in touch with the outside world, especially his friends.
He felt terrible that he wouldn't be able to speak with them, but he knew ultimately it was for their good, and safety. So, he ignored the call.
Alex dialed Justin's number a couple more times, but Justin still ignored it.
He laid on his bed, unable to sleep again as a result of shock. He decided to head out of his room, and was headed anywhere else but his room.
As he got to the living room, he found Mr Bishop, dressed in an all black suit, overlaid with a black trench coat and a black hat, being accompanied by some guards.
He hid by a corner, watching them leave, wondering where they could be headed, by that time of the night.
As he peeped, watching them, he was startled once again by the touch of a hand behind him.
