The mysteries of the past.

Silas's eyes widened in stunned disbelief at David's declaration.

"Boss, don't pay attention to this man," Caleb chimed in, his face pale. "This whole time, he has been spewing nothing but lies. Let me take care of him."

With a snarl, Caleb lunged towards David and grabbed his collar, fist raised high.

Silas, however, reacted with lightning speed. "Wait!" he roared.

Caleb froze mid-strike, his fist hovering inches from David's face. Trembling with barely contained rage, he slowly lowered his arm and stepped back.

Silas stalked closer to David, his eyes blazing. He couldn't understand why this man was claiming to be his father. Yet, a nagging suspicion burrowed beneath the surface. He had a feeling that David was not spouting nonsense. Something was there that he didn't know. Maybe there was a secret about his mother that David knew. This man held a key to unlocking the mysteries of the past.
