Vulnerable Silas

The penthouse door swung shut with a heavy thud, mirroring the weight Silas carried on his shoulders. His every step echoed in the vast space as he retreated to his bedroom. David's words rang louder in his mind, chipping away at the foundation of his reality.

Silas returned to his penthouse, his steps heavy, his mind recalling the conversation he had with David. He didn't want to believe a word David had said.

'That man was talking nothing but nonsense.' Silas scoffed inwardly.

How could he be his father? David was lying. His words were nothing but elaborate, cruel fabrications. He might have some clandestine agenda for spewing such nonsense. Yet, even as anger flared, a coldness bloomed in Silas's gut.
