You're not alone.

Silas's head snapped up, his eyes blazing with disbelief. "Mom, absolutely not!" he roared. "There's no way I'm letting you walk into that monster's den."

Victoria met his gaze unflinchingly. "Esme is pregnant, Silas," she reminded him gently but firmly. "If this is what it takes to stop him from hurting her, then I'm willing to take the risk."

"Victoria, don't be emotional," Ewan chimed in. "David is playing with us. We can't give in to his demands. We will find Esme, but we won't sacrifice you. He'll kill you."

"I don't care," she said with a quiet determination. "I can't bear the thought of him hurting our unborn grandchild. If there's a chance to save them, I have to take it, even if it means sacrificing myself."

Ewan's heart sank. He obviously wanted to save Esme, but not at this cost. He couldn't let her exchange herself with Esme as he knew Victoria's life would be in grave danger.
