The undeniable passion

Daphne had longed to hear these words. She wanted to become his priority, and she knew that with Esme gone, she would be the most important person in his life. Her goal was finally achieved, and she was satisfied.

"I forgive you," she said, a smile spreading across her face. In the next moment, she tiptoed and kissed him, her arms sliding around his neck. Her heart swelled with a mix of triumph and genuine love, her worries momentarily forgotten.

Julian didn't push her away, nor did he kiss her back. His heart was still aching from the thought that his friendship with Esme had been severed. Yet, as he allowed himself to feel Daphne's warmth, her heartbeat, and the care she was pouring into that kiss, he began to soften.

Her affectionate kiss was a soothing balm to his sore heart. Slowly, his arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. He kissed her back, gently at first, then with growing intensity.
