VIGOR: SEVENTY-EIGHT

CALLI POV

Alex had been gone for over an hour. All of us — the Enigma club — were worried about the outcome of their attack on the headquarters of their mortal enemy. We were here now in our quarters, quiet and anxious, waiting for the results of the plan. Even our parents couldn't say a single word to lighten our spirits because they were worried too. They may have known Alex for only a month, but based on their worried expressions, it seemed like they had known him for a long time.

"We need to help them," Trevor suddenly said, breaking the room's silence.

"You're not planning on going after them, aren't you?" his mother asked him.

"Of course not—"

"How can we help them if we're here?" Justine inquired.

"I don't know. But I know we can do something —"

"Like what?" Wernie asked.

"I don't know. Maybe hack their system or disable the machine that closes the vortex?" Trevor guessed.
