Finding the true path (1)

Most importantly, this movement of vitality was all on its own, it was automatic. William had tried manipulating the directions but it was not possible no matter how hard he tried.

Now that his dexterity points were a lot more than he came with to the tower defense world, he could even see the changes in his body.

There were no physical appearance changes yet William started feeling more active than before, he was brimming with energy and most importantly, he was faster and stronger than the norm now.

His jabs passed for that of a horse's back leg kick, well, a quarter of that strength.

William stayed and meditated for the time being, he didn't feel much hunger and he had around six hours till the next wave came.

After three hours, his eyes opened again when a notification popped up in the hologram.

'Either Leveling this skill up is pretty easy or I am just on the right track.'

William was satisfied with the amount of proficiency he was getting with this 'Vitality perception' skill yet at the back of his head, he still had the craving and a need to learn about his mana and more specifically, the mana shot.

He closed his eyes again and thought about the core which automatically took him to the pristine white strands again yet he ignored them this time.

The vitality core was right to the side of his heart so mana could not be there.

William stated that felt like he shouldn't be looking for strands or new energy coursing through his body, he ignored the instruction of the book for the time being and went to look for another core in his body.

Time seemed to fly and by the time he opened his eyes again, the message for the next wave had popped up.

William got up and looked for the enemies on his own yet there was a relief in his mind that the defense bot had a perception much better than him. When something would come out of the fog, the bot was always the first thing that seemed to notice it.

The same happened again, while William was standing in a position where he could see most of the back and the front of the tower, the defense bot alerted him toward the left of the front.

He saw some creatures coming out of the fog and at the first gaze, Lucas couldn't help but be surprised. It was Gremlicks that he was used to fighting but along them were the hounds that were getting used as a mount by the Gremlicks.

The grip on the bone dagger tightened as William looked at all four creatures growling toward him.

"Fuck"

GROWL

The hounds growled while looking at the defense bot and then at William, their eyes sharper than the norm.

The Gremlicks sitting on top of them were also the same, snarling at William and the bot as if mocking them both or something.

William looked for any kind of weapon in their hands and fortunately, there were none.

"Defense bot, kill the Gremlick to the right," William ordered and gritted his teeth.

He had given a complicated order to the bot and surely, even after 3 seconds, it did not shoot anything.

"HHHAAAAAAAHHH!!!" William shouted and got all of their attention to himself, it seemed like a mistake yet he was still coming up with a plan to get done with them.

The hounds had first come with Gremlicks before yet not once were they as a mount for the damn creatures.

This was a first, making William realize that he had been lax with his plans and paranoia.

The Gremlicks and the hound all moved their gazes to the only human present and without any further halt, one of the Gremlicks smacked its leg at the side of the hound making it start moving toward William.

William awkwardly grinned at the situation. The upcoming hound was all ready to bite him, William was sure of that.

He waited for them both to come toward him and surely, the hound was the one that attacked while the Gremlick kept sitting on it without doing anything but a snarl.

William dodged and ran to the right where the defense bot was, with a single glance at the bot, William was sure that it was still not ready.

William looked toward the other Gremlick and hound duo and surely, they had started sprinting toward him and the bot too.

The sacrificial book was still inside the tower and even if William had it, there was no way that he could just use it without having some safe time for himself.

He moved the bone dagger above and near the face with its blade facing downwards. A posture he had seen in a lot of movies.

The First Gremlick hound pack came too close to William again yet this time around, William did not dodge till the last minute.

For some reason, he was a little confident. All of this was happening within seconds.

The hound came for a bite again, this time at William's hand yet William slashed the bone dagger normally toward the hound.

WHIMPER

The hound got hit in the jaw by the bone dagger cutting most of it making the lower part of the jaw hang because of it.

It stepped back in a frantic wanting to make some gap from William making the Gremlick on top off guard and confused.

William took the opportunity to stab the Gremlick in the gut yet its hand came in the way.

'Its reaction speed is terrifying.'

William increased the strength behind the attack and the bone dagger severed the hand completely.

"KHAAAHHHHHHHHAAKHHHH!!!" The Gremlick shouted with its all, the hand it sacrificed fell on the ground with a thud.

They made a gap from William and that was when William heard the bot shoot an arrow.

[+10 Tower Points]

The Gremlick had an arrow in its head and fell from the hound.
