The main character is focused on becoming strong, but he has family and friends that he wants to protect as well.
The main character has a dark past and has to grapple with it throughout the story. The mana and Magic of the world has a lot to do with emotions.

Surviving An Apocalypse

After clearing my head of unwelcome thoughts, I began to explore my ship with the others. It was quite spacious. Ever since I had set foot in the ship, I could feel it draining Mana from me, just as the Mansion had.

There were five different bedrooms, one kitchen with lots of food stored in a freezer, and the captain's deck which had five seats, 5 small display screens in front of the seats, and a single much larger display screen to show information.

I sat down in the lead most seat, and I looked down at the small screen which lit up in front of me. It showed a 3D model of the ship, that there was no hull damage, and had a search/ command and keyboard wired in.

The large screen also lit up in front of us, and it showed a massive 3D picture of the entire surrounding area. I whistled. "Wow there's no glass or anything…"

Finn chuckled behind me. "There isn't a single ship that uses glass. Even clear unbreakable Mana would not be feasible…"
