The main character has a dark past and has to grapple with it throughout the story. The mana and Magic of the world has a lot to do with emotions.

Surviving An Apocalypse

After stepping through the portal, I was flabbergasted beyond belief. The library of souls was about 1000x times as big as the one we had just come from. The trapped souls filled the air everywhere, just hovering in place on their shelves on the wall. They were all dreaming of their past life as the Creator had told me.

I expanded my light Mana towards the walls of the library, and it actually took the light a fraction of time to reach the roof of the massive chamber. There were Billions and maybe even Trillions of souls…

The Earth became mine. I turned from the roof of the chamber back to Gore. "Make sure to give me all of the Mechs that have been destroyed. I am going to salvage them and understand how they work… In fact, that is going to be my first order of business… Learning how to make the Mechs myself."

Gore nodded. "I'll give you all the wreckage as well as ones still functioning within a week."
