Her father nodded calmly, "That's right, old man Clinton returned the company immediately after it was bought."

Alexa felt like she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't believe that no one had told her about this. All this time, she had been stressing and worrying about the company, and it had already been taken care of?

She turned to Aiden, who was watching her with a sympathetic expression. "You knew about this, didn't you?" she accused, her voice laced with hurt.

Aiden nodded, "I found out recently, but I didn't want to tell you until I knew for sure."
