Ch-38:Pretty Close

The entire Liakroso Empire, now better known as the Agat Empire, was under a frenzy of cultivation since they got access to better cultivation techniques.

The better techniques or manuals helped them fasten their pace of cultivation with the same resources due to the manifold increase in the efficiency of energy absorption.

The wastage of energy went into decline as there were quite a few fights, leading to chaotic situations due to fights over more cultivation resources.

This was an expected outcome after the cultivation techniques became available to all the subjects living in the Empire, which incited fear in the people of power.

The ones who held the reins of power were surely dissatisfied, but what could they do? Their own cultivation techniques were also refined and improved many times.

In the end, they too gritted their teeth as various groups formed and got destroyed, making the entire power structure collapse in some places.

Raon had stopped caring, as whatever happened didn't happen anywhere near the place he lived because he expected the rulers under him to take care of it.

After all, every region under him had its rulers' growth way before these cultivation techniques became public so they could curb the commotions if they wanted yet they didn't.

He felt no remorse over his actions, as it wasn't his duty to deal with them, and the selection for Daiyu Sacred Land was also after 70 years, so they couldn't interfere even if they so wished.

To add insult to injury, Raon had sneaked into the Cloud Sea Empire and killed quite a few of their border kings and queens to make them feel the burn from the demon beasts that he sent.

Of course, no one knew that he was controlling them, so what could they do except curse their luck and fight it? Well, that's what they did as their precious land was encroached upon.

Altair would have voiced her dissatisfaction if she had not grown in the past centuries to learn that the outside world is harsh and no one is going to help you when you're suffering.

Idealism has no place in the world. What Raon was doing was exactly what he wanted to prevent since he too had faced it, but what could he do at this point in time?

Despite already knowing the truth, he let it be and just consolidated the knowledge of several side occupations as well as weapon arts.

Surprisingly, he only knew the sword art that he created himself and had to ask Altair for her weapon art so that he could give it to her wherever in the past he landed.

Weapon arts were prominent in the cultivation world, as even using one's body as a weapon was a weapon art that had multiple forms inside it.

Raon had already reached a level where he could use his own body as a sword, so he couldn't understand or comprehend any meaning in other weapon arts.

Despite his failure, he remembered them as they were and improved them from various arts that he read by stealing and ordering them to be given to him as their ruler.

He didn't care that he could only improve them with swords in mind, as he wasn't going to wield them, but it also helped him reduce some imperfections in his own sword art.

After all, if you don't know what other things exist, you will believe what you have to be the best until your worldview gets shattered, leaving you depressed.

At this point in time, Fenlie Zwigo had just arrived in the Hexacuran world and was moving towards the Agat Empire.

His goal was to gather information regarding recent as well as past ascenders since he had already gathered all other information in the past few years.

He was also quite interested in the Agat Empire, which fell and took over an existing major power like the Titled Empire without their superior Daiyu Sacred Land interfering.

Fenlie Zwigo had already spent quite some time in this world, and currently, four of the six large-sized powers have already allied with him after he wooed their daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives.

He didn't seem to have any moral limitations as to what he could do to make them bow down if they wanted to prevent him from taking over all the females in their power.

Although it seemed impractical, all he had to do was take over the direct blood relatives with value to them, like the talented and beautiful ones.

The other two powers were safe for now, as he already had the information on their continents due to his old mates, who were serving him not only information but also beauties on a platter.

Zwigo was traveling through the land because all teleportation portals were closed in the Agat Empire due to their recent public unrest.

The Emperor Rio Kigost von Liakroso had also vanished, as no one had made any official reports of seeing him since the time he defeated the Russell Imperial Family.

Zwigo heard a weird rumor in the distance during a passing conversation between two cultivators, and he literally ordered to have them interrogated.

Two of his first seven wives went and appeared in front of the two cultivators, startling them completely.

"One chance. Speak everything you know about what you were talking about just now" said his seventh wife, who was a bit on the crazy side.

"You heard her, peasants" added the second wife, who had an arrogant demeanor.

The two were too stunned to speak since they had never seen such beautiful ladies throughout their lives and felt that they saw angels.

The only issue was that these angels carried an aura of death oozing off them that scared one of the cultivators as he ran for his life—or so he tried.

"I gave you one chance" said the seventh wife as she used her bare hands to break both his legs after capturing him.

"So, will you answer, or do you need some push too?" said the second wife nonchalantly, ignoring the brutal scene just beside her.

"I-I'll speak... Just d-don't kill me. P-Please..." As the second cultivator begged for his life, the second wife smiled sadistically.

Their forceful interrogation ended, leaving the two cultivators in a state worse than death, as they were bleeding all over and their cultivation was absolved.

"His daughter is a fiery beauty, huh? How fun!" voiced out Zwigo as he smiled eerily.

He didn't expect that the Emperor Rio he was going to meet had a beautiful daughter who was apparently a maiden and had killed countless men who tried to court her.

Just as he saw his second wife, he saw that she was angry and was oozing with killing intent because the previous second wife was the kind that he heard about Rio's daughter, and she had defeated her, placing her in the category of a normal female after that.

Of course, with having to travel ever so often, Zwigo just brought his seven wives, guardians, and masters with him, leaving the rest aside.

He had even cast hundreds of females that he slept with aside because they couldn't keep up or ended up dying, and he had never stopped caring about them.

After that, he continued his journey in an even more excited state, but he was left disappointed compared to his great expectations.

All he saw was that the Agar Empire and the Cloud Sea Empire were at war while demon beasts rampaged and ravaged both empires.

He saw nothing other than pure carnage and destruction, and right at that moment, he realized that the feeling he thought was nothing was more than that.

A few days back, when he was traveling, he felt his dantian and light element fluctuate in trepidation, fear, and excitement for less than a fraction of a second.

If it were anyone else, they would have missed it, but he was able to notice it solely due to his extreme affinity with his element and great sensitivity to the cultivation energies.

But he didn't lose hope, as he scoured through the empire and even nearby empires regarding any clues left behind by Rio and his daughter or if they were there themselves.

Of course, he had nothing on his hands, but he did discover that something was fishy about the entire scene since neither Empire of the Two had many strong cultivators.

He was correct because Raon had taken all his trusted subordinates who were bound by soul-binding contracts away with him.

Raon had reached a higher realm in both cultivation and swordsmanship, making him much more sensitive to the world itself.

He asserted a threat to him a few days ago when Zwigo had just started his journey to the Agat Empire.

Raon stopped everything and started a war between the two title empires by inciting them to believe the demon-beast tides were done by the Agat Empire.

This resulted in their subjects causing unrest and uproar regarding the weakness of their rulers, who couldn't even take revenge on the ones that caused their predicament.

Raon started a war in less than a few days against a titled empire that wouldn't happen even if tensions between them reached their peak for years.

Due to his sixth sense, or future sense, or danger detection, Raon left while taking everyone worthy alongside him.

He had already done enough for his subjects to be able to leave anytime, so he left it to them after slaughtering the strong men on their side to balance both empires.

Unfortunately, Zwigo just missed him and was pretty close to meeting Raon as Raon traveled the regions and heard about Zwigo, understanding why he felt danger.
