Ch-41:Breakdown

Fenlie Zwigo was smart and related to all the matters, as he almost immediately guessed that it was a long plan to distract him somehow.

Raon was unaware that, at the current time, Zwigo was working on somehow taming the spirit of Hexacuran since she was the only one he found across various worlds.

He felt that whoever was causing this was related to the spirit, and the will of the world was guiding the perpetrator to distract him from his current actions.

Yet he didn't have any other option left other than going and taking a look himself, and his suspicions seemed to solidify into a concrete idea after he noticed that all the attacks were left by just one person.

He was overthinking that he would fail to take over the spirit to gain access to the secrets of ascension that seemed to be forbidden in his eyes.

All his subordinates couldn't make sense that one person could cause such destruction alone since that was a totally mind-boggling and ridiculous idea to them.

Despite his current imaginary predicament, Zwigo gave orders to consolidate the populace and prevent it from spreading out as he hastened the progress of corrupting the spirit.

Unfortunately, even he couldn't woo a spirit, let alone an ancient one that was in a deep slumber, so all he could do was use the effects actively to tame the spirit in its feeble state.

While Zwigo was busy trying to tame and get access to information from the spirit, there was his counterpart, who had just killed his and his daughter's last living blood relatives.

Raon hadn't expected to feel guilty or traumatized after his actions unless he realized that they were Altair's last blood relatives, excluding him.

Drowned in sorrow and guilt, his psyche was affected as his backlash strengthened its hold on him, trying to forcefully ascend him to the upper realm.

Yet Raon, in his current state, felt that enough was enough and started absolving his cultivation completely to become like a mortal who couldn't even cultivate at all.

But how could the heavens let someone do it so easily? The space around him flickered as energy swirled in his direction, opening the realm gap to send him to the upper realm.

Stubborn as he was, he directly focused to the utmost and, in intense fury at his current predicament, swung his sword, gathering almost all the elements.

As if the heavens were challenged, they increased the suction force that made the entire planet shake in fear of heaven's wrath.

Raon didn't give up, as he tried to kill himself or destroy his cultivation without caring about the consequences, yet he was forbidden from doing so.

'Why...? Why can't I just do what I want?'

'Stop restricting me...'

'I did the right thing...'

'They were hypocrites, evil, and heartless...'

'They were still blood relatives...'

'Yes, I know, but... they deserve to die...'

Just as Raon was falling deeper into the sense of his emotions, the entire world seemed to stop moving as everyone stopped whatever they were doing.

Raon saw that the portal was slowly being closed as he felt a warm touch on his shoulders before he turned to look and saw the familiar yet unfamiliar female there.

"You're correct, but not completely... Did you forget you would go back to the past?... This is the last time I can help... Take care... And... leave it be, my pitiful child..." Whispered the woman as her form vanished right after she smiled gently.

Raon couldn't understand what happened for a while before he suddenly shed tears that transformed into blood tears as all his orifices started leaking blood.

'How could I forget? What took over me?' thought Raon as he realized that he had forgotten about the fact that he'd be going back to the past irrespective of what he did.

At this moment, he noticed that his entire body had changed and was sealed in an entire realm below, prohibiting him from breaking through or even cultivating at all.

Just as he stood up, the entire world resumed without anyone feeling the oddity, as none of them seemed to remember heaven's wrath or the weird phenomena except Altair.

She had already located the oddity of being near her father and was on the way to reach it when the world paused as she heard a kind of whisper that she couldn't make sense of.

"As perceptive as him..." was what she heard, and for some reason, she felt like she heard a smile(?).

She couldn't understand her situation or the oddity, yet she rushed to her father, who seemed completely fine as if nothing had happened.

Except for the fact that she noticed that his cheeks were drenched in tears as he looked at her, and she hugged him reflexively, not understanding her own actions.

"I am sorry..."

"It's my fault..."

"I am useless..."

"I will correct..."

As she hugged her father, she started to hear his weird mumblings and felt his tears on her shoulder, making her confused since she hadn't seen Raon vulnerable in her life.

As she patted him to calm down her father, he regained his bearings as his aura turned cold and sharp before vanishing completely, which was quite shocking for Altair.

Unfortunately, the two didn't have much time to converse about her confusion, as their protection and hiding formation seemed to be getting attacked right at this moment.

"So, it's time..." Raon muttered before leaving the confounded Altair behind.

Altair was quite confused about what was going on since Raon kept everything to himself except the fact that Fenlie Zwigo was trying to take over their world.

Altair was aware of the fact, but no one informed her of all the details as per Raon's orders to hide the fact regarding females from her for as long as possible.

She was brought out of her reverie by a loud, alarming sound that indicated that the formation wouldn't last for long as it was constantly under attack.

She immediately went into her Princess mode as she took control of everything and ordered the cultivators to charge the defensive formations and prepare them for a counterattack.

Raon was going through various focal points of the formation before reaching the core as he charged all of them to maximum capacity.

He wanted to delay the inevitable for as long as possible since he could sense Zwigo was not here, but it was his force since they all carried a faint aura similar to Zwigo.

Rather than thinking about countermeasures, he left after charging the cores to the throne room, where he ordered his most trusted subordinates to take the ones that were vulnerable and wanted to flee away safely.

He also passed orders for the cultivators who will go to battle to fight and fight to their death, even if they have to burn their lifespan, cultivation, body, and everything except their souls.

The sole order was to kill anyone who was trying to burn their soul during the battle, as his subordinates resolutely received the orders and passed them on.

The stalemate was broken when the formation counterattacked using the attacks thrown at it, causing massive casualties among the assaulters.

As soon as Raon felt that, he realized that his earlier breakdown was for no reason since a cultivator couldn't rise without killing countless others on his or her journey.
