Chapter 256 Combat City_1

Now, in addition to going to the Gravity Training Ground every day, training the Solar Spirit with predictive ability, and training the Trio Magnet Monsters with electromagnetic force, Fang Yuan had added another important task.

That was to discipline the Fierce Fire Monkey; after evolving, the Fierce Fire Monkey was really naughty, often causing trouble and lacking the steadiness it had as a Chimchar.

Despite the headaches and exhaustion, Fang Yuan couldn't deny that although the Fierce Fire Monkey had become more mischievous, its speed of learning moves had increased considerably. It was as if it had suddenly gained enlightenment - after practicing Sonic Fist a few times, its proficiency soared, almost surpassing the long-practiced Fire Punch and Thunder Punch.

It was like a mature, steady, and serious student had turned into a smart yet extremely naughty one.

Although its personality had changed, its performances were still good, making poor students look up to it.

In this transformation, Fang Yuan didn't find any significant drawbacks, and the change in personality didn't affect its ability to gather energy and focus. As long as the Fierce Fire Monkey wanted to settle down, it could quickly enter a state of mental concentration.

It seemed that the foundations laid during the Chimchar period were not forgotten, which relieved Fang Yuan.

"Gather around!"

A few days later, in the dormitory, Fang Yuan shouted loudy, and the three Pokemon promptly lined up, waiting to be returned to their Poké Balls. Today was the day they were heading to the Wind Fist Flow Dojo for learning, with the Fierce Fire Monkey being the most eager, while Eevee and the Trio Magnet Monsters could relax a bit during this time.

The Wind Fist Flow Dojo was different from the Heavenly Flow Dojo; it wasn't as well-known, located in the north of the motherland, in a very cold city named Ice Plain City.

Ice Plain City, also known as Combat City, earned its name because besides the Wind Fist Flow Dojo, there were several other Fighting Series Dojos.

A number of students from the Battle Society were heading to Ice Plain City recently, but most of them were going to other dojos. As far as Fang Yuan knew, only one other person was going to the Wind Fist Flow Dojo for learning like himself.

However, the two did not travel together; they went their separate ways.

The next day.

Combat City, Ice Plain City.

A student wrapped in a down jacket, breath forming white clouds, wandered the streets with a lifeless look in their eyes.

Fang Yuan suddenly felt a bit of regret; Ice Plain City was truly cold. Was he really going to stay in a place like this for half a month?!

Why did a Fighting Type Dojo have to be established in such a cold city; shouldn't there be several Ice Type Dojos instead?

Just having arrived in Ice Plain City, Fang Yuan already felt discouraged by the climate, but then he thought about the potentially even harsher environments of the secret locations he would later visit and he endured.

Moreover, for a wise Trainer, solving the cold wasn't a very difficult task...

"Eevee, come out for some air," Fang Yuan said as he took out the cold Poké Ball, releasing Eevee, then he placed the bewildered Eevee on his shoulder and wrapped Eevee's tail around his own neck.

The Eevee with Fire Awakening felt so warm...

Unaware of what Fang Yuan was thinking, ever since it could store Solar Energy with its Destruction Gene, Eevee became almost indifferent to hot and cold. It could tolerate most temperatures, except those excessively extreme.

"Combat City lives up to its name."

As Fang Yuan walked, he reflected on the scene before him - in such cold weather, so many people were exercising. Passing by a park, he saw a group of seniors playing Tai Chi in teams!

Leading them was a Mightyena, and the scene was simply beautiful.

"Aside from being a bit cold, it's actually not too bad."

Compared to Magic City, the pace of life seemed very slow in the area where the Wind Fist Flow Dojo in Ice Plain City was located, giving off a leisurely vibe.

Fang Yuan really liked this slower-paced city.

Before long, he slowly made his way to the grand entrance of the Wind Fist Flow Dojo.

"What's this? A gatekeeper?"

Fang Yuan noticed that, in front of the dojo gate, a Trainer wearing a fighting suit and an Abra were standing, their forms erect in the biting wind, their expressions meticulous.

The Trainer appeared to be about his age, but his vigor was much better than Fang Yuan's.

"A challenger?" The Trainer asked doubtfully after seeing Fang Yuan and Eevee.

"No... no, I'm not," Fang Yuan shook his head and said, "Big brother, aren't you cold standing like this?"

The Trainer and Abra earnestly replied, "Harsh environments forge the will to fight; it's a form of cultivation."

"Of course, that's what the teacher says. I don't want to stand either, but I've already paid my dues, so what can I do?" He sighed.

Fang Yuan smiled; this big brother was quite interesting. After chatting for a bit more, Fang Yuan learned of the other's identity.

Cen Mingzhi, a local of Ice Plain City, didn't do well on his college entrance exam and could only aim for a third-tier college. He ended up forgoing university entirely, being sent directly to the Wind Fist Flow Dojo as an Apprentice.

"Oh, so you're from Demon Capital University." When Cen Mingzhi heard that Fang Yuan was from Magic City University here for a short-term study, he showed an envious look, "What I regret the most is not going to university. If only I had known, I would've retaken the exam for another year to try, and aimed for a university with an Elf Department. You college students are so lucky."

"How so?" Fang Yuan was curious.

"Here at the Wind Fist Flow Dojo, out of 61 Apprentices, there are only two female students," Cen Mingzhi laughed, "Not only do the Pokémon have to battle, but we Trainers need to compete in fighting too. Two sturdy guys sparring, that's what life in the dojo is like every day. Would you like to join?"

Eevee on Fang Yuan's shoulder glanced at him. There were plenty of girls in the university, but that didn't seem to help Fang Yuan's game.

If Fang Yuan started dating, he probably wouldn't have time to train them anymore, right?

"Dojo Apprentices have to compete in fighting??" Fang Yuan, whose focus was elsewhere, opened his mouth in surprise. He hadn't heard about this at all. He came to the dojo to train his Chimchar, not to get beaten up.

Even if he did regularly exercise... there's no way he could beat those muscle-bound men who learn fighting skills in the dojo every day.

Fang Yuan observed Cen Mingzhi for a moment – he was about the same age as himself but half a head taller, and even through the fighting suit, it was clear the other's build was robust... Excuse me, can I let Eevee fight in my place?

"Achoo!" As they were chatting, Fang Yuan sneezed.

Seeing this, Cen Mingzhi slapped his forehead and said, "Sorry, I forgot about the important matter. I'll take you inside, it's cold out here."

The locals might have acclimatized to the temperature here, but Fang Yuan, being new to this place, could easily catch a cold, so thinking of Fang Yuan's health, Cen Mingzhi immediately brought him into the dojo.

"By the way, after Apprentices enter the dojo, they need to engage in a battle so that the teachers can arrange the teaching schedule accordingly. Is your Fighting Spirit a Beginner Elf? How long have you had it?"

"No, it's been less than three months since I've caught it, and it's not old, about half a year," Fang Yuan replied as he followed Cen Mingzhi.

The Chimchar had been raised in a breeding house for three months after it was born before being captured by Fang Yuan. Judging by its age, it was still in the Novice Stage.

"Oh, oh, then the teacher should pick an opponent that's about the same level for you guys," Cen Mingzhi said with a smile.

"An opponent of the same level? Based on age?" Fang Yuan pondered. Age doesn't equate to strength, what if Chimchar knocks out the opponent with a single punch?

Well... that's not something for them to worry about.
