I'll live Forever

Clark took another look at the location where Mia had fallen on the ground and felt a sense of familiarity. Wasn't this the same place where the zombies appeared yesterday?

"No!" Clark suddenly understood, "Those zombies didn't just appear out of nowhere; they fell from above. Because they are zombies, there's no concept of being dropped to death, so we didn't notice!"

After realizing this, Clark stared at the sky pit above. It seemed necessary to go up and investigate!

"There's no direct way to the sky pit, but there's an elevator that goes straight to the observation deck above, very close to the top of the pit," Isabella hesitated for a moment before speaking when she heard Clark's request to go up the pit.

"Is it forbidden up there?" Clark asked when he saw Isabella looking uneasy.

To uncover the truth, they must go up and see for themselves.

"There are many heavy weapons up there, and access has always been restricted. Even I haven't been there. Anthony is more familiar with that place; let's see what he says," Isabella, tense due to Mia's death, regarded Anthony as the main pillar.

The three found Anthony.

"Do you want to go up?" Anthony glanced at Clark, his expression somewhat cold but not an outright refusal.

"The sudden appearance of zombies and Mia's fall later, both happened in the same location. I think it's necessary to go up and see what's going on. You shouldn't refuse, as it concerns everyone's lives!" Clark directly spoke, pressing Anthony for answers.

Being polite at this moment would only waste time!

"You can go up," Anthony considered, "but I can tell you clearly, there's nothing unusual up there. There have always been sentinels, and I've inquired; there have been no sudden situations. Plus, only you can go up!"

When Anthony spoke, he smiled at Isabella, implying giving her face but inadvertently glanced at Sophia.

"Thanks then!" Clark directly had Anthony lead him to the entrance of the elevator.

It was an elevator built into the rock wall, with a relatively spacious interior that could accommodate about twenty people. Clark, walking in alone, looked somewhat conspicuous.

"Unnecessary!" After the elevator doors closed, Anthony immediately dropped the smile, showing a disdainful look, staring at the elevator rising continuously. He then turned and walked away.

The elevator ascended quickly, and the sound of the cable pulling the carriage made a whooshing sound.

Clark could see everything clearly in the entire harbor. As he watched the people and objects getting smaller, he felt a vague sense of unease.

The heavy weapons above were originally meant to prevent enemies from attacking from outside the sky pit. If they were to be used to attack the harbor, being in a superior position, would the people below have a chance to resist?

While contemplating, the elevator stopped, the doors opened, and Clark walked out.

In front of him was a concealed platform built into the rock wall, providing a clear view below, but due to back-lighting, the area below couldn't be seen from here.

Standing on the platform, directly opposite were several large cannons gleaming with a cold light. A person in protective clothing approached.

"You're the one Anthony mentioned?" The guard looked coldly at Clark, his words carrying a hint of impatience.

Clark nodded.

"Your movement is restricted to this platform, no wandering around, understand?" The guard said loudly before walking to a nearby lounge and sitting down.

The platform was about ten square meters, and Clark quickly traversed it. Staring at the sky pit exit above, it was only about twenty meters away from the platform. It was nighttime, and the stars filled the sky.

"Did the zombies drop from the periphery before?" Clark looked up and asked.

The person didn't respond, just gave Clark a displeased look.

"When Mia had the accident, did you see her falling from here?" Clark sensed the unfriendliness but still inquired.

"Why is it your business?" The guard lost patience and began to curse, "Are you implying it's my negligence that allowed zombies to fall in and Mia to fall from here? If that's the case, go ahead, arrest me, let Anthony execute me!"

The guard kept cursing as if releasing pent-up frustration, even gesturing wildly, appearing somewhat frenzied.

Clark stared at him without retorting, only feeling that something was off with his mental state. It seemed like a person who had been oppressed for a long time suddenly exploding. It felt like this person might actually be suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder, and this moment was just an outburst.

"Are you afraid of Anthony?" Clark asked suddenly.

Upon hearing Anthony's name, the guard's face changed, immediately showing fear, no longer daring to curse as before.

"Ha ha, this guy is quite pitiful. Usually, he behaves like a dog in front of Anthony, obedient and fed up with the pressure. Only in front of outsiders like you does he dare to bark a bit." A familiar voice came from the side, followed by the appearance of a somewhat overweight figure.

"It's you!" Clark saw the person and widened his eyes, somewhat disbelieving what he was seeing.

The person who suddenly appeared was Mia! But hadn't he clearly seen Mia's lifeless body falling from above earlier?

What was going on?

How could he possibly encounter Mia again?

This person was someone he absolutely shouldn't have encountered!

But the voice, appearance, and figure of the newcomer unintentionally confirmed that this was indeed Mia!

"Mia, you're not..." Clark was momentarily unsure how to articulate his thoughts.

"I'm not already dead, am I?" Mia laughed, her voice unchanged, but her expression appeared somewhat manic, distinctly different from the Mia that Clark knew.

"I won't die, I will never die, I'll live forever!" Mia laughed fiercely. As she approached Clark, she raised her hand and shot directly at the guard.

With a bang, the guard's head exploded, and he collapsed to the ground, dead.

The gunshot echoed around, but it didn't attract any attention below. Since it wasn't a closed space, there was no resonating echo.

"Mia, what's happening to you?" Clark sensed that something was wrong and felt the danger.
