A Narrow Escape!!

"It is so sudden" Amara said hesitated, shifting in her seat.

"It is a known fact that your uncle loves the garden, can there be any other reason?" Isobel pretended to think.

Amara smiled halfheartedly, what would she do now?!

"Anyway, do you know that Amara is participating in the surgery tomorrow?!" Harry regarded his wonderment towards Isobel.

Isobel's eyes widened, "You didn't say me that!!" her voice almost in a complaining tone, "Are you going to do the surgery?" She asked with a side eye.

Amara waved her hand, "Too much expectations, I am going to be a helping nurse, not a surgeon!!" Amara chuckled.

Isobel sighed defeated leaning back against her seat, "Is it only me who's on leave?!"

"Do not worry, you wouldn't be alone!!" Amara assured.

"And how is that possible?!"

"It is, for I know the art of splitting myself, I will be there to help father as well as to make you feel less alone!!" Amara laughed.

Isobel gave her another side eye before leaning forward, "I would feel left out, Harry! I've decided to assit!!"

"It's our anniversary, you deserve at least some rest!!" Harry softly and calmly tried to convince.

"It is either a day off or a working day, for both of us!!" Isobel stayed dedicated.

Harry accepted defeat, neither his wife nor his daughter, were easy to be convinced.

Amara smiled faintly, wondering how completely was the story changing. They had a plan to visit her uncle's house for the anniversary celebration, which she wished to stop, to have them around her, in her own house, away from all the upcoming miseries. However, an operation did come up to keep her father away from home, now her mother is joining as well.

No matter how much she wished to stop anything, she failed, just becoming a part of the unchangeable story.

Is she really going to lose them again?!

"Your meal is getting cold!!" Harry reminded her, gently wiping her food stained mouth with his napkin.

Amara smiled faintly as she watched them in misery, with a dedicated sigh, she decided not to give up yet.

Just not yet!!

************

After the meal, Harry and Isobel continued with their own works while Amara took a stroll in the hospital, and when she finally neared a secluded place, she immediately touched Crystal.

'Zamiel, can you sense me?' She thought about him.

A voice suddenly reached her from behind, "Seems like an actual summon this time?"

She turned back, witnessing him standing ahead, with so leisurely resting his hands in his pockets. A smile crept over her, "Yes"

"I summoned you!" She said with a proud smile as if she achieved something great, "To inform you about my mother, she is coming along with us tomorrow!!"

"I suppose I don't have any need to keep an eye on your mother, then?!"

Amara nodded, "Just a day, Zamiel!", she said looking away, "Just a single day!!"

"Believe in yourself!!" He assured with a smile.

She smiled as well, turning to him she spoke. "My uncle is about to come, I didn't yet inform him about the cancellation of celebration." She said with a sigh.

"Your uncle?"

She nodded, "Uncle Max, my parents' friend! He loves the hospital's garden and so often visits here when he gets free time." she smiled as she said it.

Zamiel smiled back, "Do you want me to welcome him?"

Amara gave him a glare before rolling her eyes, "I'll go wait for him, see you later!" she said and soon ran away.

Zamiel chuckled, just how different is she from Heaven?!

Naughtiness highly loaded, just like his past self!!

With a sigh, he wore the cloak of invisibility, again, deciding to be with her. An act he kept carrying out from years!!

Her presence alone being his happiness.

He watched her wait for her uncle in the garden, as his gaze shifted, he watched the name board of the hospital, those huge letters gracefully hung; 'Sion'.

Means, Heaven!!

A small smile crept over him, as he thought about his wife.

Only if not for the tragedy centuries ago, would he have had a different end?

As he watched her in silence everytime when she ignites the memories of their past, he couldn't help but feel the misery upon being the alone who's bearing the precious memories.

Despite having the hope, Zamiel couldn't help but worry, what if she never remembers him?

Even if she does acknowledge the fact, would she accept it?

Even if she does remember him some day, will she be able to adapt to that fact?!

His mind, was always a mess, heart, a chaos.

However, her view, alone felt soothing. Like a cooling balm against his unhealed wounds.

A caress so smooth against his cruel past scars!!

************

When Max arrived, Amara welcomed him with a warm hug, as they walked towards the garden, she took the advantage of the situation, informing him about the upcoming surgery and cleanly using it as the reason behind the cancellation of the party. Not at all bothering to take the blame.

As they settled in the garden, Amara informed her parents through a call about the man's arrival.

Her parents shortly joing them.

Harry apologized for not being able to accept his request while Max waved it away.

"I am aware of the busyness that comes by being a doctor!!" Max quipped.

"A reason for which you didn't choose it!!" Isobel quipped back.

Max and Harry chuckled in unison.

"Well how's Dorian doing?!" Amara wondered.

"All good! He's working as a CFO in our company at present!"

"That sounds great!!" Isobel and Amara said in unison.

Max waved his hand, "Don't exaggerate it, he will then sit on the peak!!"

"You should start appreciating your son!!" Harry said with a pout, pointing his finger at the man.

Amara nodded, "Don't look down on my friend!!"

Max shook his head, "Alright, alright!! I fear the world war three would start if I don't give in!!"

They all laughed.

"Well well, let's come to the point. I'm here for an interview to be precise! I hope you guys are free now?!"

Interview?!

That took them aback.

"The entertainment department wants to interview you guys, the Winson's couple. I said I will ask for the permission myself." Max explained.

Isobel smiled, "That's so pleasant to hear, we will be free this evening!!" she said after a brief eye exchange with her husband.

Max clapped his hands, "Well the staff would come within few minutes then!!"

Amara couldn't help but smile by looking these people happy.

Later, after the staff had come, Isobel and Harry took the interview while Max spent his time by chit-chatting with Amara.

They both talked about different topics, once they were talking about Dorian while the other time, it's her parents' love story.

She asked what made him get into the business field for which he only shrugged, saying life does has weird turns.

Amara smiled faintly at it, yeah, life sure has and gives weird turns.

Max then asked her what is she doing now and her thoughts about her career.

'I'm already a reporter at your company, uncle!!' she thought.

"I always dreamt of becoming a cardiologist!!" She however answered him.

Max smiled at her, as time passed by, the interview had come to an end. Max's staff leaving before thanking both Amara's parents and her uncle. Max stayed back with her parents until the sun has declared its set.

Seeking a promise for another definite meal next time, Max conveyed his goodbye.

Amara wondered then about the interview, asking how did it go.

"It went well!!" Harry assured.

"Yes it did!!" Isobel joined, "However, we are getting late, we can be early for tomorrow's schedule only if we take an early leave now!!"

Amara nodded understandingly, "Let us leave then!"

Isobel nodded back, "Give me some time, I'll be back with some files which I need to study!!"

With an eye exchange, Isobel soon left, leaving behind the both.

Harry sighed, "I need to discuss about a case which I couldn't do because of the interview, I guess I can finish it off in the meantime?!"

Amara smiled an 'Of course ', going along with him.

The doctors met her father along the way, her father ending up discussing the case standing. Amara observed, her gaze randomly shifting up, noticing few bunch of boxes placed in a messy way along with few things upon them.

She wondered, what more shifting was happening, perhaps it could be any ward getting renovated.

With a shrug at herself, she decided to bring her fathers' belongings in the mean time. After returning, she observed her father still talking with the other doctor.

Amara almost sighed, when her mobile ringed suddenly. Taking another glance at her father, she walked some distance to speak with Sarah.

Sarah called to know whether she and her parents were free tomorrow for a celebration, however Amara informing her about tomorrow's schedule disappointed her a little. Yet, Sarah felt happy for acknowledging about Amara participating in the surgery as a nurse. She congratulated her, for it was her first time in the operation theatre.

Amara thanked her for her best wishes, before agreeing with her request of at least a meal if not for a celebration.

Sarah clapped her hand with Ralph in excitement upon hearing Amara's acceptance.

After hanging the call, Ralph patted on her head gently, "After a long time, seeing your aunt and uncle!!"

Sarah smiled wide.

On the other side, Amara as soon as the call got cut, walked back to her father who still was busy in his talk. Her gaze again as though insecurely looked up, witnessing the workers fastening the arrangements of those boxes.

However a gasp escaped her when she noticed a printer carelessly placed upon one box, on the edge of falling down by the fastened work. As she looked down, her heart sank to see her father standing straight down to it.

Amara gasped again when she saw the thing finally falling off, rushing to save her father, pushing him away startling him.

Harry being pushed away onto the floor.

However Amara put herself in danger in a trial to save her father.

She felt a sudden pull by a force from backwards and within seconds, a thud noise reverberated the whole place as the printer fell down, breaking into as many pieces as possible, creating a mess.

Harry and Amara both gone numb.

Yet she sensed a touch against her waist and wrist as if someone held her.

'Are you okay?' A whisper of a man reached her ear startling her, however she found no one when she turned back to see.

".....Yes" Amara stuttered a whisper, before rushing to her father, helping him get up.

Isobel rushed out to the place with all those files she held, bothered about that loud noise, her soul panicking as she saw her husband and daughter together while the floor being messy and the place crowded by the staff and the patients.

"What..... happened?!" Isobel asked concerned, her gaze wavering.

Harry and Amara exchanged a glance, their hearts still pumping faster.
