The coach arrived and they all welcomed him.
He briefed them shortly and reminded them that the All school tournament is getting closed and they needed to work hard in order to preserve a better position. After his short briefed, he told the first and second year students to sit in a roll and watch what he's about to teach the third year students. Why he asked them to watch is because nobody will be in charge of them when he started training their seniors as Karim and Ross would also be training with the Coach today.
Emmy was wise enough to choose his seat far away from John and his friends, although they won't be able to do anything to him when the coach is around, but prevention is better than cure, as they always say.
The training started with the coach asking the senior students to perform the skills he thought them in their last training, the Tiger Strike and The Shadow Move. Some did it well while many of them failed. The coach did it for them one more time before proceeding to today's training. While he did it from them, Emmy has already captured it with his system, including Karim and Ross'.
"Like I told you guys last week, these two skills are useless, especially at you people's level. It's not really useful for you. But you know, as it has been in this 60th century that nothing is useless in and outside the world we live in. The two Legends that created these two skills created it to be used by Legends only. They're not skills created to be used to a mere Amateur or a Star. Some years after the discovery of these skills, our Stars realized that these skills are really useless for anybody below the rank of a Legend."
"But as time goes, many Stars learned how to use these skills how to make it useful, or rather, tried to make it useful, because none of them succeeded. They were unable of make these skills useful in a match, although they learned how to use it, but it's useless for them in a match. Until a particular young mysterious Elite came forward and combined these two skills together creating a new one entirely."
The coach explained, the students all looked at him, what a bunch of great Stars failed to do, a young mysterious Elite came forward and combined the two useless skills creating a new one entirely. That's really a great achievement, but why isn't he known all around the world. They all wondered and gave their coach a questioning look.
"I can tell you're all wondering who this person is and why his or her name isn't known for this achievement. I want you all to erase that thought from your mind, because knowing this person's name or thinking of him alone might get you killed, not to talk of knowing his or her identity."
Hearing this, Emmy's heart skipped a bit, how dangerous is this person that knowing their name might get someone killed.
"Don't take it serious, this person is not really dangerous, they just prefer to do their thing secretive. Even this skill I'm about to teach you is not what I should do. This skill is not supposed to be spread, it was to be kept a secret among the few people who were there when this person created it, knowing these skills might also get the person who taught you in danger."
"But Coach, why are you teaching us." A boy asked.
"Because I'm not among them, I'm not among those people that were supposed to keep it a secret. I wasn't there when it was created. And also, none of these people resides in this state, I can assure you that nobody with the knowledge of this skill is in this state. So, learning this skill won't put any of us in danger."
"Coach, if I remembered clearly, when you were teaching us the Tiger Strike and Shadow Move last week, you stated that Karim and Ross already knew about these skills because Karim train under you outside the school and Ross outside Coach must've thought him. Doesn't that mean Ross' Coach also know about this combined skill." Promised was the one who asked this question.
"Yeah, I said Ross' Coach must've thought him Tiger Strike and Shadow Move but not the combined skill. His coach knows the two skills doesn't mean that he knows the combined skill."
After his explanation, the Coach removed his overcoat as usual and walks forward jogging a ball as he walks.
"I'll let you know that not all of you will be able to learn this skill, in fact, it might also be none of you, so you shouldn't be feeling down if you failed. I'm only teaching you this skill today and today only. Even if I teach you this skill for a hundred years, you might not be able to perform it. That's just the nature of the skill."
He asked them to do a few stretches and warm up so that their body will be freed from sluggishness.
The first thing the Coach did was to perform the combined skill for them, he never mentioned the name of the skill. Emmy suspected that the skill was not given a name or maybe the Coach decided not to disclosed the name for them.
Everybody watches as it was performed by the Coach and they had their mouth wide opened after seeing the outcome, some of the first year students even stands up to make sure they're not seeing things.
'Did he just teleport with the ball?' Emmy had the same thought on everyone's mind.
He was just standing here a moment ago and in the next second, he was already up ahead, about 50 meters away from where he was before. None of them had seen what he did that's why they all thought he teleported with the ball. But the third year students knew what he did, although they didn't see the move and it was as fast as a bullet, still they knew what he did because he had thought them the basics countless times. It was the combination of Tiger Strike and Shadow Move.
After he did it a few more times, he explained the process to them and preformed it slowly so they could catch a glimpse of what he did. Both the slow process and the first one he did were captured by Emmy's system.
It was just as the Coach had stated, it was very difficult and none of them was able to do it.
He repeated it for them. Putting the ball between his leg, he kicked it backward with the back of his left foot, while the ball was on the move backwards, he right foot was already twisted in a strange circular motion, then it shot backward as the ball was about to move past the range of his leg, his right foot hit the ball and sent it flying upward moving at an incredibly speed, at the same time, his left foot moves in a triangular motion and hit the back of his right foot and the next moment, he disappear from their sight, appearing at the same place the ball landed. Controlling the ball, he put it under his foot.
Everything happened so fast, it took no less than a couple seconds. But due to the slow process he used to teach them, it takes up to thirty seconds.
Everybody watches in awe, the skill wasn't as hard as they all thought. For a person who has perfected the Tiger Strike and Shadow Move, all they needed to combine it is concentration and timing which is almost impossible for most people. For people who hadn't perfected the two basic moves, they still have a long way to.
The Coach made them known that the combined skill might take them years to be perfected but he still decided to teach them because he expected to see a talent among them. And somehow he found one.
All of those that can already perform the two basic moves thought combining it won't be a problem for them, including Karim and Ross, the best two students. But the concentration is breaking, some where able to perform the first move but failed in doing the second.
The problem comes in when they were to split their concentration on kicking the ball backward with left foot and performing a circular move with their right foot. And that exact point is the foundation of the skill, that point is the midpoint, where the tiger strike and the shadow move skills have met. And that is where their concentration is breaking.
But somehow one person was able to do it. A girl named Promise, she was able to split her concentration and performed the move well but not perfectly.
Timing denied her achievement, she didn't get the timing well. Is either she arrives before the ball or the ball landed before her. She was unable to perfect the timing, but still, the Coach encouraged her because it was a great achievement. He already knew nobody will be able to do, but he expected at least one talent, one person that would be able to do it and somehow he found her.
After seeing one person do it fine, the Coach leave them to practice on their own and move towards the first and second year students.
