Lucas was a soldier who almost met an unfortunate end. Fortunately, that was his chance at touching the extraordinary. But as we all know, everything has a price, and this one demands immediate payment before it can be enjoyed.

Humans' Limits

Estrella and her two opponents separated after the probing contact, returning to their earlier position. They looked like they only had one another in their eyes, unscathed and unruffled.

Estrella didn't bother looking at the fleet when it fired at the camp behind her. Her eyes remained on the two conversing aliens. She didn't understand their words, but she could see the desire in their eyes when they looked at him, something more obvious in the female's dark eye than in the man's. But rather than feel dread, Estrella only felt disgust, along with a colder wave of killing intent.

Nevertheless, the eyes of the three of them flickered when some of the ships in the fleet failed to keep their cannons active, those closer to the center and the path of destruction Estrella had carved failing sooner than those more removed.

Estrella narrowed her eyes while the two aliens silently communicated.
