Murphy stayed in the camp and began leading the wizards in constructing the Weave nodes.
At this point, he had taken on another identity—Merlin.
Not many wizards had actually seen Merlin in person, and many mistakenly identified Murphy due to his demonic form. More importantly, Merlin had portrayed himself as the savior of the wizards in his propaganda, and Murphy, after saving the camp, fit this image even better.
The remaining godchildren, whether out of gratitude for their rescue or fear of Murphy's power, did not mention his killing of Merlin. Moreover, Murphy did not deny it, thus easily assuming the identity of the godchild Merlin.
In fact, as he began training the wizards to meet the requirements for constructing the Weave, their recognition of Murphy's identity as Merlin grew stronger. The legendary godchild Merlin was the savior of wizards, master of magic, and the greatest wizard. Clearly, Murphy fit this image perfectly—there was probably no one in the world who understood magic better than he did.
It was impossible to teach these wizards, who could barely use magic through instinct and hearsay, to become master wizards from scratch through conventional means. Fortunately, Murphy had a method to cheat using the seeds of the mind.
After bestowing mind seeds containing the necessary knowledge to thirteen wizards, Murphy had an absolutely loyal initial team. They then organized the wizards to build the Weave. In fact, Murphy did not need to spend much effort on this; apart from occasionally checking the construction progress, he devoted most of his time to pre-training the Weave's neural network model.
Time flew by, and several months passed.
In those months, under Murphy's guidance, the wizards gradually became familiar with the methods for refining high-quality magical metals. They established a smelting furnace for adamantine to mass-produce the high-quality adamantine needed for the Weave.
Simultaneously, the extraction of special magical energies was almost complete.
The camp had already gathered many wizards, and as news of Murphy defeating the angel army and teaching magic spread, more wizards flocked to the camp. Finding a few wizards with single, prominent magical attributes from this large group wasn't too difficult.
Though their quality and polarity were far inferior to those of the godchildren, Murphy only needed these energies for show. He had already prepared the extreme energies needed to power the Weave.
By the seventh month after arriving at the camp, Murphy had finally completed the pre-training of the Weave's neural network model.
Murphy then announced that the Weave construction ceremony could begin.
On that day, all the wizards in the camp gathered in a valley at the foot of a mountain, chosen as the site for the initial Weave node.
For stability and safety, the Weave node was designed to be underground.
Murphy glanced at the rock beneath his feet, and with a thought, his magical energy surged, resonated, and expanded outward.
He did not rely on a wand, nor did he use the crow antenna or magical radar. He expanded the reach of his magical energy without any external aids.
This was something no wizard had been able to do before.
But for Murphy, it was merely a natural progression.
Having used the magical antenna so many times, Murphy had extensive experience with it and a thorough theoretical understanding of magical wave propagation. By extending his cognitive scale and enhancing his magical control to a microscopic level, he could now manipulate the flow of his internal magic, turning himself into a magical radar.
Without even using the Nibelung Ring, he extended his magical waves over a radius of several hundred meters with his own magical energy alone.
But this was just the beginning. The expanded magical energy was not a single mass; Murphy projected it as a multi-dimensional matrix through the microstructure of his internal magical flow.
By adjusting the microstructure of his internal magic, he could influence the overall direction and scope of the magical matrix.
Thus, the magical waves began to contract, gradually compressing into a cylindrical shape with a thirty-meter radius. With further fine-tuning, the previously smooth, continuous edge formed a sharp boundary.
He compressed the magical waves, which should have behaved like thermal radiation, into a clearly defined area.
Meanwhile, the magic level within the area became uniform, while the magic level outside continued to drop until it approached zero.
Murphy slowly opened his eyes, sighing slightly in regret.
"My current control over magic can only reach the nanometer level, making it impossible to create an absolute magical boundary. Some waves with intensity below my control threshold will always leak out. If I could further refine my cognitive scale to the femtometer level, I might touch the boundaries of physical entities and construct an absolute domain within the material realm."
However, this level of precision was already more than sufficient.
He could confine his magic to a cylindrical area with a thirty-meter radius, with almost no magical leakage beyond it.
"Transmute Rock to Mud," he whispered.
The ground within a thirty-meter radius suddenly collapsed, liquefying into a viscous fluid that sank to the bottom, forming a neatly edged pit.
Murphy naturally floated above the pit while the liquid was compressed and guided by his magic, forming a cylindrical basin with a thirty-meter diameter and a twenty-meter height, but only fifty centimeters thick at a depth of a hundred meters underground.
Next, he laid a complex honeycomb structure with countless cells at the bottom of the basin.
"Transmute Mud to Rock."
The entire fluid structure instantly solidified, turning into a substance resembling black crystal.
Analyzing this material would reveal that the original stone, under high pressure and thorough mixing, had been compressed into a complex, stable crystalline compound primarily composed of silicon-iron oxides. It was incredibly hard, resembling semi-transparent black crystal but was actually a super-strong ceramic.
Moreover, every part of this ceramic structure appeared absolutely smooth and flat. The cylindrical basin's inner walls seemed drawn with a compass, and each cell in the honeycomb structure had near-perfect edges. Every surface was so smooth it could serve as a high-precision mirror.
If someone used chip-level inspection methods, they would find that the surface irregularities on these planes or curves did not exceed three nanometers.
In an instant, Murphy had constructed a massive structure with chip-level precision spanning tens of thousands of cubic meters.
Though the wizards and godchildren lacked the perception and knowledge to grasp the terrifying precision behind this feat, they were still astonished by Murphy's effortless creation of a pit large enough for a skyscraper and a complex structure within it.
The godchildren murmured among themselves, their earlier doubts about the Weave's effects diminishing significantly.
Murphy sensed their reactions and smiled inwardly. Much of the purpose of this Weave project was marketing, and it seemed his grand opening had worked.
"The foundation is set. Bring the adamantine," he commanded.
