Whose eyes are mesmerizing

"Captain Sinclair! Captain Sinclair!" Ravi called again to the person who was staring at him in a trance.

Arlen slowly shifted his gaze.

"I got it!" Just like three minutes ago, the two voices sounded at the same time, but this time it was filled with rage.

Lisa Johnson and Draco Brown were the closest in age in the Davenport Bureau and yet it did nothing to create any sort of camaraderie between the two of them.

"I said it first!"

"No! I said it first." Draco said, "Captain..."

Lisa raised her right hand and shifted it to the right, Draco's entire body stiffened and he slumped to the ground.

"Alex's sister is suffering from Pulmonary Fibrostenosis Syndrome{PFT}. Yesterday, the head doctor who was visiting from Alstria agreed to do her surgery and she was moved up the list to receive a lung transplant. Her older brother Alex Malley paid the money, 7000 dollars in cash. The patient is undergoing surgery now." Lisa rushed the words out, breathing rapidly.

"Officer Johnson, using your ability on another citizen is a…" Arlen's brows narrowed, "That means that the suspect is not at home, he is in the hospital. Everyone suit up. Officer Adams, please stay behind and tell Emily and Tariq where we are." Arlen said as he helped Draco stand up.

Draco stood up and dusted his uniform, "Captain. That does not count. She cheated." He gave Lisa the harshest glare that he could muster.

"She can order the hotpot and you can order the drinks. Is that alright, Captain?"

Ravi rolled his eyes as he switched off the computer, Sarah Adams, the Mediator. He looked at Lisa who gave him a thumbs up, Ravi gave her a nod of approval to which she grinned widely.

Arlen let out an exasperated chuckle.

"The Sergeant is out. How would we get the keys to the storeroom? Should I go first and make sure that he does not leave the area?" Draco asked.

"Just raise the potted plant on his desk." Arlen ordered as he headed upstairs to inform the Chief. There was no haste, Alex was outside the surgery room.

Draco found the key and raised it up surprised, "Who knew that was where the sergeant kept the keys."

"Handsome and Observant. Definitely my type." Lisa cooed, "He should allow me to take a picture of him for my social media." She turned to Ravi, "You are not shaving off your beard, at least trim it, you are closer to a homeless person at this rate."

"No. And stop eyeing the Captain, the rules are against officers in the same team dating each other."

Sarah nodded, "Officer West is right, if you date, you will end up being distracted while doing fieldwork."

"You guys are focused on the wrong things. Look at the Captain, and then look at Lisa's ugly mug. That is as impossible as the suspect coming to surrender himself."

"Hey!" Lisa gritted her teeth, "Who did you say is ugly? Look at my beautiful cheeks, my mesmerizing eyes, and my nose."

"Is your cheeks more beautiful than the Captain? Are your eyes more mesmerizing than the Captain's eyes?" Draco said, not hiding the mocking glint in his eyes one bit.

"What are you all talking about?" Arlen asked and Draco who was laughing instantly started choking. He coughed so much that his considerate partner, Sarah had to pat his back.

Ravi had no such consideration, instantly reporting him, "Captain, they were talking about how beautiful your cheeks are and how mesmerizing eyes are."

"Ravi, you piece of shit," Draco murmured as he wished he could just melt into the ground and become one with the tiles.

Arlen was not angry, he just chuckled, "Do you also think so, Officer West?" His voice was like a subwoofer, gently reverberating in his ear.

Did he think so? He looked up at those well-defined cheekbones that made someone want to trace it and those eyes, mesmerizing might be a poor adjective for them, the tips of his ears reddened, the warmth made him frown and he looked at the Captain who was smiling as if he knew that at this moment, his beauty had entranced him.

"If we waste any time, the suspect might leave the hospital and he would be impossible to trace," Ravi said as he stepped back, creating a tangible distance between the two of them.

"True. Officer West is right. Perhaps we should wait for the heroes. If Alex should leave the hospital, it would be very difficult to find a hypnotist on the run, even if he one whose S gene recently awakened."

"Alex Malley is not in his house." A voice sounded as Emily appeared in the office. A few seconds later, the gas appeared once more and formed into a young man.

"He has not been home for two days." The young hero Vapor Stream spoke, his voice was croaky, scratching on the ears.

"That is because he is in the hospital. His sister is in surgery, he might have used his ability on the doctors to make them treat her and make her a priority for the transplant."

"Davenport hospital. Hospitals are the worst place to make an arrest. The public goes crazy if any infrastructure is damaged. We might need the police's help on this. We would make several plans. Plan A would be Vaporstream catching him by surprise and taking him out through the window."

"He might be a mutant but he would get injured if you throw him out of the window," Arlen said frowning, the man was not a murderer.

"Don't worry. Vapourstream can hold tangible things even in its gas form. He would take him down where I would incapacitate him and take him out. Plan B, do you have sunglasses and an earpiece, I need you to leave the guns behind. Apprehending a hypnotist with weapons is very dangerous."

"Sunglasses and earphones?" Draco asked, confused.

"I would also need a helmet, gloves, and a piece of cloth, one that can be used to gag someone."

Lisa stood on her tiptoes to whisper in the Captain's ears, "Captain did they show any ID that they are really from the Hero's Association."

Ravi wanted to chuckle before he frowned, she was close, and that was surely against regulations.
