Why is he being so reckless?

A second later, the transparent cage gained form and instantly shattered into a million pieces. A man jumped down, he was wearing a black boot with embedded crystals that attracted Ravi's attention. Those boots had an energy that Ravi was all so familiar with. He lived in Harlan, the abandoned district that once housed a Nest, the energy from those boots had the same marking as the energy from the Nest.

His brows twitched. Every realm had energy, some realms had not yet learned to harness it, some had mastered it and in some realms, this energy manifested in various ways but no realm had the same energy. Sentinels were granted the ability to use energy from all realms under Heaven, that was the reason he could survive easily on this Earth but still, his body got weak from time to time, hinting at an initial incompatibility.

He has never seen something like this, a resident of a realm using the energy of another realm. How did they build those boots and what exactly can those boots do? He wanted to capture this person and ask him. His hand in his pocket moved, touching one of the small pebbles there, as he was about to transform it, he froze. What was he doing? This was none of his business.

"Ah! It is just the two of you." The man looked at the two of them with a little disdain. Alex, who was curled up, saw that the cage had shattered, and got up to run when the man who was taller than him held him by the scruff like he was a disobedient kitten, "And where are you going to?"

Alex shook but he looked into the man's eyes, "Your hands are heavy, aren't they? It is alright. You can let me go."

Ravi and Sarah watched as the huge man who was prancing around adopted a blank look as he let go of Alex.

Alex brushed his clothes and looked at Sarah who immediately looked away, still muttering, "You are under arrest, obediently come with us and do not resist arrest."

Why was she muttering it to his ears? She should say it to the man. Ravi caught sight of those glowing blue eyes but he did not look away, causing Alex to hesitate.

"You.." Alex opened his mouth to say something. Ravi sighed, closing his eyes, best to go with the group so there would be no problem. The man did not speak again so Ravi opened one eye to see what was going on.

There was a huge injection at the back of Alex's neck and his glowing eyes dimmed as he slumped into the arms of a woman. She was beautiful and she had a large gun in her hand, "What are you doing, Ignitor? You fool, hurry up. The electricity would not be out for long."

The electricity, these people actually shut down the electricity in the hospital so that they can capture someone with hypnosis ability. Ravi's stomach rolled and he clenched his fist, forcing himself to calm down.

If he kills these people, so what, many more would spring forth, like maggots unending. Evil was embedded into man, eradicating it is impossible, it was a complete waste of time.

Another man landed down with a similar boot and looked at the woman, "Duplicator. There are three more minutes for the backup generator to start working. We have to move. He is waiting for us."

"Got it!"

"What are we going to do with these two?"

The moment that Sarah heard Duplicator, she started shaking. But at this moment she held up her gun, "We are Davenport police officers. You have already outnumbered us. Killing officers would just cause numerous troubles for you."

The woman laughed, "I like you. At least you are better than the coward that is hiding behind you."

Sarah wanted to let out a breath of relief when the woman sighed, "It is a pity but I don't like leaving behind witnesses. Ignitor clean up the two of them."

Bang!

There was a loud crash and another and the wall of the elevator suddenly burst.

"Duplicator!" Emily screamed and jumped down, "You crazy piece of shit!"

"Ah! Isn't it Cicada, what are you doing in this god-forsaken town?" Duplicator laughed while signaling to the man carrying Alex to move.

Emily jumped down from the Seventh floor and lunged forward.

She was incredibly fast and Ravi pulled Sarah away from her path. Emily punched the Duplicator only to be met with air as the figure with a gun dissipated.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three Duplicators laughed at various locations and Emily moved, dodging quickly, her figure was a mere blur.

She is even faster than Draco and his super speed.

Cicada. Ravi felt as if he had heard the name before.

"He is getting away!" Sarah motioned to the man who had Alex across his shoulders like a bag of rice. She wanted to go to him but Ravi pulled her back.

"You would die and the police department might not even give your daughter a scholarship. She would be released back to her father, is that what you want?" Ravi cautioned her while pulling her away from the middle of the courtyard where the fight was taking place.

A flash of silver light appeared and a hole appeared just in front of the man who instantly dropped Alex. He turned into a blue vapor and charged towards the elevator where he was met with a gray vapor.

Ravi looked up, half of the elevator had been punched through and the remaining team was standing at the edge. They did not have the beast-like reflexes and strength of Emily and they could not just jump down from the Seventh floor without sustaining major injuries.

The huge man who had destroyed the cage, turned and headed toward Alex when the Captain had the most serious expression that Ravi had ever seen, which was understandable concerning how the situation had deteriorated.

His blonde hair blew slightly in the wind as he raised his hand against it. The sky quaked and a lightning bolt appeared, striking the huge man and slamming against him.

"Captain can control lightning. Wow." Sarah was amazed, her eyes were wide as she watched the man stand up, his clothes were charred and he looked worse for wear. He picked up two stones and threw them towards the elevator, the stones instantly exploded before reaching the elevator.

Ravi frowned. This is the last time. He just did not want to attend any funeral in this cold.

The huge man was confused, he picked up the stones, frowning as they dissolved into water in front of him.

Arlen jumped down, causing Ravi's heart to skip. Only when he saw the Captain roll and stand up did he let out a sigh of relief.

He suddenly felt a rush of anger. Could he not be so reckless?
