Karmic Crucible: Broken Heart, and the Devil's Game

The novel follows two characters, Chen Li and John Bentley, who both long for a return to mortal life and the refuge of death. Chen Li, a Kung-Fu star, interrupts his journey to the afterlife, feeling confused and angry. John Bentley, an eleven-year-old boy from Hull, meets the blind gypsy 'Zena' and faces tragic events. Chen's refusal to complete his journey leads to a meeting with the Devil, which galvanizes the 'Council of Light'. John's life spirals into spiritual death, with anger and violence dominating his life. His spirit breaks, and he longs for death.
