Beautiful

"Hello, dear! How did you sleep? I hope you woke up feeling great.

Dad got back home yesterday and briefed us about our journey on Saturday—everything is all set. I just wanted to let you know that we’ll be leaving for London as early as possible on Saturday. I tried calling you this morning, but your number wasn't connecting, so I decided to send you a voice note. Please get back to me when you can.

I love you." I sent a voice note to Yusuf the next morning.

It was Thursday morning, just two days before our journey to London. After my morning prayer, I headed downstairs to the kitchen feeling quite hungry. I thought about Yusuf and the bittersweet feeling of leaving him behind in Nigeria.

Feeling a mix of pity and concern, I grabbed some snacks and juice and returned to my room, placing them on the table. I picked up my phone and tried calling Yusuf, but again, his number wasn't connecting. So, I sent him a voice note and focused on my meals.
