Aftermath

It's been a month since the battle between the now well-known lightning users and the invaders. The catastrophic display of power displayed during the battle was unforgettable and downright terrifying.

Added to this frightening fact was the confirmation of the existence of a real and authentic dragon flying around out there in the world. This news had shaken the nations of the world as well as their various governmental bodies.

Meetings upon meetings were held by representatives from various allied nations to discuss whether to make the attempt to bring these super beings under their control one way or the other or to move to eradicate them.

"Listen to me, all of you", the American representative hosting the entire congress stood to his feet and said, drawing all eyes to him.

"First of all, as the country currently hosting these beings, any decision we take here may have consequences on us therefore, I believe my opinion should hold more weight", he paused, receiving acknowledging nods from the audience. He walked to the podium with a touch pad in hand and laid it down.

"Thank you! Now then, there are a few things we need to consider when breaking down what exactly it means to place them under our control or eliminate them. For a few years now, a special team has been created to research into every facet of information available on these super beings. The first consistent information we deduced from all the research is that, whenever these beings made an appearance, they were either resolving a crisis or preventing one from occurring".

"Take for example, a plane malfunction that occurred a few years back in the cities in my country. These beings acted to stop the plane from plummeting into the city and killing thousands. They clearly acted in good faith to save the people, and taking into consideration all their actions so far, we have deduced that, at this moment in time, they have no intention of harming any one of us".

"Now with that considered, do I think we can get them to obey and follow our rules? No! I don't think so. They are clearly creatures beyond our comprehension and the level of their technology is clearly beyond us. I suspect that if they felt like it, they could very well reverse the situation and force us to serve them, and I don't know about you, but I for one am not willing to give up my freedom".

"Now, let's look at it from the point of view of attempting to eliminate them", he said as he slightly tapped his touch pad and a video was displayed on the large screen at the front of the conference hall.

The video was in the perspective of an audience member in the stadium, and it showed the destructive power of the invaders' attack as well as the dragon's ability to tank such an attack with its very body, leaving no scars whatsoever. It also showed the dragon sucking in all the ominous flames into its mouth and swallowing it.

"I believe the video speaks clearly for itself. I can just imagine it is capable of swallowing nuclear flames. It is my belief that, just as we were unaware of their existence and allowed them to roam free, we should continue to leave them be".

"If we should get involved with them, I believe seeking to establish a friendly and cooperative relationship should be the top priority now. We can use the rest of the time to prepare a fail-safe that should be effective in case relationship between them and humanity turns sour", he finished and was met with applause as he returned to his seat.

The members of the international congress approved the suggestion and an international task force was created to find and establish relations with these super beings.

Watching all the proceedings through a secret spider camera lodged into the ceiling of the conference hall was Silendiana and Dr. Michelson, who sat snuggled up together on a couch. "These national representatives are quite funny, do they truly believe they could stop the kids", Silendiana asked with a snicker.

"Well, looking at it from their point of view, they believe they are right. I for one think they have the right idea in attempting to establish friendly relations with us, although they are going about it the wrong way. Either way, there is a time for everything", Dr. Michelson said and kissed her on the lips.

Silendiana smiled and kissed him back. "You know what, now that the immediate danger is dealt with, how about you and I take a trip together?" he asked her. "Sounds romantic, when do we leave", she asked excitedly.

"We can leave in a week's time, I'm expecting a report from Lisia between now and then", he answered. "What report is that?" she asked curiously. "After the battle with the brothers, the satellites picked up an increase in the quantity and quality of the mana in the Earth and atmosphere. It seems our assumptions were correct. With each major event involving the use of high amounts of mana, the quantity currently in circulation is increased exponentially, almost as if it is being forced out of wherever it is".

"Lisia is currently running an analysis on the rate of release of the mana. We are attempting to predict whether to what extent the quality of the mana will reach. We should have the preliminary results in a few days", Dr. Michelson informed her.

"I understand. I'll prepare for the trip then. But before we go, I think it's about time we told the kids about us", she said to him. "You're right. Although it was exciting in its own way, sneaking around them is getting old", he said and they laughed. "Then we can tell them before we depart", she said and kissed him again, proceeding to snuggle closer to him.

A week went by without any major incidents. The taskforce set up by the congress had had no luck in locating the super beings. The very act of searching for them was like looking for a needle in a mansion size hay stack, especially considering the fact that they had nothing to go on to start their search. Also, to the fact that Lisia was constantly interfering with their systems whenever they came close to picking up their trail.

Although they were hellbent on successfully completing their mission, their constant failures were starting to demoralize them. Tracking their flight paths as well as the unnatural, natural phenomenon was not making a dent in their search. It's almost as if the superbeings didn't want to be found.
