Chapter 9. I, Won't, Divorce_1

9.

Ming Mei put down her cup and stared straight at Kang Chen, "Or maybe, I should do this instead. Just yell out: Drop dead, you scum!"

"Doing that would just be playing into your expectations, wouldn't it? Such a pity... my intelligence tells me not to cooperate with your performance."

The woman screamed out, her face full of juice, as if her head had just exploded.

Two women standing close to her were also splashed with some juice. But... only Kang Chen remained completely clean; not a single drop on him. It was unusual.

Ming Mei was puzzled, but she didn't have the mood to think about it at the moment.

Ming Mei wanted to just let the matter drop, but Kang Chen's childish behavior and the shockingly low intelligence of the three women were so unbearable that she struggled to continue with the act.

Kang Chen coldly observed Ming Mei's sudden strange behavior today.

Looking into her eyes, he unexpectedly found them unusually clear and void of the sick possessiveness or the tainted feeling of her usual interactions with him.

The Ming Mei of today, her eyes were like the moonlight of the night, clear like water.

Kang Chen couldn't hide his surprise, but he didn't want to waste too much thought or time on Ming Mei.

He rested his hands on his knees, his attractive fingers tapping lightly, he said, "So you don't agree."

His cold and clear voice sounded like the clinking sound of ice in early spring. Enchanting yet chilling to the bone.

Ming Mei shivered inexplicably. Kang Chen didn't show any anger, but she felt an imminent danger.

His deep, dark eyes were like an ancient night, captivating enough to make anyone sink in them.

His gaze on Ming Mei made her feel as if all her secrets have been laid bare.

Ming Mei bit her lip, regretting her earlier impulsiveness a bit. Kang Chen might be suspecting something.

How could she dispel his doubt?

This was something Ming Mei now must do.

Right, didn't he want a divorce? Then she would stubbornly not agree, which had always been the original host's standpoint as well.

Ming Mei lifted her chin with pretended bluster: "That's right, I won't get a divorce…"

Ming Mei feigned disgust, saying, "Wait until your intelligence, one day, becomes as substantial as their chest. Don't embarrass me with such idiotic propositions."

Kang Chen ...

Ming Mei had always acted pitiful and docile in front of him in the past. She had never shown such a forceful demeanor before.

Kang Chen stayed silent, sizing Ming Mei up.

This woman... was different!

Her appearance was the same, but the aura she projected seemed like a different person's.

Ming Mei felt extremely uncomfortable despite standing while Kang Chen sat.

Yet, she couldn't help but felt like an ant crawling on the ground, looking up at Kang Chen.

For the first time, Ming Mei understood the description in the books of a truly noble aura, an aura befitting a king.

King, my ass.

No matter how noble, he's still unfaithful.

Ming Mei clenched her teeth. She had to hold on, silence would only make things worse in this situation.

In disdain, Ming Mei sneered, "You don't like what I have to say. Are you offended?"

She gestured at the homewrecker number one of the day, "Take a look at her. My God, is that human skin? Those pockmarked pits, it's like a wasp nest. You're not afraid to throw up yesterday's dinner seeing that."
