Chapter 2 Perfect Tattoo (Part 1)

Well sweat me! Little Three was surprised that many readers guessed correctly the fictional art career Qi Yue came up with. I must say, I seem like quite a decent person, not too perverted. Hehe.

"Well…" Qi Yue quickly began racking his brain. He worried that he stretched the truth a bit too far. What if he had casually boasted about being a musician or painter, and she followed up with more questions? Wouldn't that blow his cover? Suddenly, an idea popped into his mind. The smile on Qi Yue's face turned mischievous as he whispered, "I am an artist with a special profession. Since we're so fated, I might as well tell you. I work in the art of the human body."

To his surprise, Shui Yue covered her mouth in shock. "Art of the human body, do you mean the kind where you have to get naked? No wonder your eyes look so weird."

Qi Yue was rather pleased with his quick wit, chuckling to himself. "Actually, the art of the human body is a profound art. As an artist studying the human body, I always believe that the human body, especially the female body, is the most perfect art in the world. It is full of mystery and hazy beauty. Only by freeing ourselves from all the bindings can beauty be fully released. What do you think? Would you like to discuss this in depth?". After saying this, even he was beginning to admire his quick-thinking. Even with his limited knowledge, this was quite an impressive performance.

Shui Yue pondered a little before nodding slightly, "Your words seem to make a lot of sense. However, I don't know anything about the art of the human body."

Qi Yue quickly replied in a serious tone, "That's alright. I may not be that old, but I can definitely be your teacher in this respect. Perhaps we will get such an opportunity in Tibet." As he was saying this, his gaze has already moved to Shui Yue's body.

But this time, Shui Yue was not naive. Recognizing Qi Yue's strange gaze, she quickly covered herself with her clothes, blushing, "No, no, no thanks. If my father finds out, he will be angry. I'd better not understand anything about the art of the human body."

"What a pity, I apologize, I actually didn't mean to look at you there. However, as a body artist, it is merely a professional habit. Please don't mind, by the way, why are you going to Tibet?" Having just warmed up to each other, Qi Yue quickly changed the topic as he didn't want to miss out on any opportunity.

Shui Yue seemed to believe Qi Yue's explanation, saying, "I am a first-year student at the medical college in Capital City. My dad is also a doctor. He taught me a lot growing up. This time, I'm going to Tibet because my dad wants me to gain some practical experience. He arranged for me to intern at a hospital in Lhasa. After the summer vacation, I will return to Capital City."

"Oh, so you're an Angel in White! That's impressive, very impressive," said Qi Yue, quickly complimenting her. Shui Yue seemed a bit fearful of his blatant gaze. Her words were significantly fewer, and she pulled up the blanket over her delicate body. It was already night, and she closed her eyes, not knowing whether she was pretending to sleep or really sleeping.

The two people on the lower bunk had also come into the carriage. Since Shui Yue had covered herself with the blanket, they naturally could not see the beauty above.

The train from Capital City to Lhasa finally started moving. Looking at the neon lights through the window, Qi Yue seemed to be lost in a daze. Looking at Shui Yue, she must come from a very well-off family background; otherwise, how could they have raised such a good daughter? Does he really have a chance? Probably not. Thinking about Nana, who kicked him away at one point, Qi Yue's lust did not diminish, but he felt somewhat defeated.

At this point, with the movement of the train, an announcement sounded. According to the announcement, there were eight stops from Capital City to Lhasa: Capital City, Shizhuang, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Xining, Golmud, Naqu, and Lhasa. As it was already late, most people had dozed off after an hour of noise. However, at this time, Qi Yue was still awake. As Shui Yue seemed to be someone of high status and had been sleeping, he didn't have any opportunities with her. Therefore, after the train began to move, he set his sights on the soon-to-appear service personnel. However, he was greatly disappointed. All of the service personnel on this train were male. When he asked, he discovered that to prevent altitude sickness, all the service personnel on the Qinghai-Tibet line were composed of retired soldiers from the plateau, all of whom were in excellent physical condition. Looking at those strong servicemen, Qi Yue's last hope was dashed.

Becoming a bit drowsy, listening to the uniform breathing around him, Qi Yue was struggling to stay awake. His eyelids started drooping, and as he reflected on his nineteen-year experience, he gradually drifted off into the land of dreams.

In his dream, Qi Yue felt like he was flying. The ground was beneath his feet, and there was a hazy mist all around him. The sensation of soaring between heaven and earth was so wonderful. He was amazed to see that he couldn't seem to see his own body, only a faint red light. This intense, hot, red light seemed to be changing his life in some way.

Gradually, the red light became more and more intense, and he found his body extremely relaxed, "What's happening? Could it be, am I actually flying?" Qi Yue was filled with doubt.

Suddenly, the mist in front of him split apart, and from a distance, he saw a large golden building enveloped in light. The shape of the building wasn't clear, but the sight was profoundly shocking. The building was so majestic, and most peculiarly, a harmonious voice seemed to be calling out to him.

Qi Yue wanted to fly faster towards it, but he discovered with a hint of fear that the golden building seemed to be moving further and further away from him. However, the harmonious voice had become clearer.

"Come, come to me. Your companions need you." was the only phrase he could make out. This sentence filled Qi Yue's heart with urgency.

The mist reappeared, obscuring everything around him. The golden building vanished, but the calling voice lingered in his mind.

Why did the voice sound so comforting? Could it possibly be... a man's? Does this mean I also have an interest in men? No, absolutely not. My sexual orientation has always been normal. Even in this dream-like universe, sly thoughts occupied Qi Yue's mind. For some reason, once he entertained this thought, everything around him abruptly disappeared. The mist cleared, there were no more feelings of flying, and everything dissolved into darkness.

"He's calling me; he's calling me..." Qi Yue woke up with a start amidst his murmurs.

"Ah! You've finally woken up," a sweet voice filled with surprise echoed in the air.

Regaining his senses and opening his eyes, the first thing Qi Yue saw was that delicate, pretty face. That's right! I should be on a train; the occurrences just now were evidently a dream.

Quickly, Qi Yue realised something was wrong. He was not on the upper bunk where he was supposed to be, but in another compartment. The low growl of the train was still audible and a faint smell of disinfectant filled the air. Subconsciously, he asked, "Where am I?"

Shui Yue exhaled, "You've finally woken up. I haven't seen anyone sleeping longer than that."

Scratching his slightly tousled hair, Qi Yue asked, "Have I been sleeping for long?"

Annoyed, Shui Yue replied, "If not, you wouldn't have been brought to the medical ward. You slept for over thirty hours. In a few more hours, we'll be reaching Lhasa. If you had not woken up, the train conductor might have sent you to the hospital at the station before Lhasa. Thankfully I am a doctor, and your pulse was steady. There were no abnormalities."

Thirty-plus hours just passed due to such a short dream? Qi Yue was puzzled, as he remembered every single detail. This was the first time he experienced this. He had had dreams in the past, of course, but usually, only vague impressions remained after waking up. This time was clearly different.

Looking up at Shui Yue, Qi Yue couldn't help but smile, "So, you've been looking after me this whole time?"

Her pretty face turned slightly red as Shui Yue responded, "Don't forget, I am a doctor. Do you feel unwell? The train is now over three thousand meters above sea level."

Qi Yue paused, took a deep breath, and felt no discomfort. Shaking his head, he said, "Not at all! This place smells awful; I've always hated hospitals since I was young. Let's go, let's return to our carriage." Saying that, he sat up abruptly from the bed. Shui Yue was sitting next to him and Qi Yue stumbled a bit from dizziness as he got up. Immediately, he bumped into Shui Yue.

If a person drowning suddenly sees a piece of floating wood in front of them, they would undoubtedly grab onto it, and that was exactly what happened to Qi Yue. As he stumbled, he subconsciously reached out to steady himself against Shui Yue, and his right hand conveniently caught onto her, stabilising himself.
