Chapter 26: Just as Confident

Junie's whole face felt hot and she tried to ignore her audience as her hands skillfully flew over Mrs. Girard's old sewing machine. The girl was currently thanking her grandmother for having had a similar one when she was growing up. 

"You don't have to do this," Kian told her from over her shoulder. His arms were crossed and he sent an almost stern look in his little brother's direction. "We don't really need to cosplay in order to enjoy ourselves at a convention." 

Junie just smiled up at him. "You know I love this sort of thing, Kian," she said. "And besides, it won't take me too long. It'll be worth it." 

Kian didn't look convinced. When his little brother came down for breakfast that morning and asked if he and Junie would take him to a local comic convention, he didn't expect Junie to jump up and offer to throw together a cosplay for the boy.
