Chapter 38: Rollercoaster Butterflies

Junie felt as if she was actually being led to a dungeon. They continued down a dimly lit hallway with walls that were made to look as if they were made of stone. The cheerful worker who was leading them along had fairy wings poking out of her long blue cloak.

“Where are we going?” Junie asked for what felt like the hundredth time.

The girl looked over her shoulder at them, giving the two a mischievous grin. “To be reunited with your friends, you must prove the trust you have in one another.”

Junie huffed a bit. “That doesn’t answer my question,” she muttered.

Kian nudged her lightly, bumping his shoulder against hers. His voice was low, quiet enough to where their escort couldn’t hear. “If you’d like to leave, I’m sure we could just ask her to take us back to the others. We could word it in a way so we don’t break character.”
