Chapter 7 You are not into men

Days went by and when Way had finally thought everything was over since he had not been summoned into the webtoon but it was just but the beginning. He spent some of his free time reading the chapters that came out. The webtoon that was once a trashy book and had been disposed of had started gaining others' attention it was now the talk of the town.

"It's been two days now since you were summoned and dragged into the webtoon shouldn't you be happy? Isn't that what you wanted? To end it all, then why are you so moody and sulky lately," Layla stared at his friend Way. She couldn't understand him anymore. One minute he was grumpy about being summoned and the next he was just like a moody teenager.

"What's with you? Come on, speak up," she yelled as she tapped him. She couldn't take it anymore. He emitted a cold air that no one had the guts to talk to him apart from her.

"What's with you? Speak up or else I'll ask your sister about it," she yelled again. She noticed the change in Way's behavior, he was suddenly interested in himself. For the past two days, she watched him walk around with a mirror and continuously asking her how he looked. He keenly worried about his appearance and even wore perfume each day. His sudden change is what picked her interest.

"Are you in love?" She asked seeing that she wouldn't get an answer anytime soon.

"What?" Way suddenly spoke as he placed the mirror down.

"Ooh, I finally got your attention now, I've been talking to myself for a while," Layla glared at him.

"What, I'm not in love with him," he bluntly denied.

"I know, I was just teasing you I know you aren't into men," Layla replied with a chuckle.

"Who said I wasn't into men? What's wrong with being into men huh? It's just a gender it doesn't matter whether I'm into men or women," Way suddenly yelled angrily.

"Why are you yelling are you mad or something?" Layla stared at him in slight shock.

"Who is mad? I'm not yelling I'm just saying," he said as he scratched his nose subconsciously.

"You are lying," Layla said.

"I'm not," he denied.

"You just scratched your nose, we have been friends for years and you do that when you lie so why are you getting so worked up about that? Are you perhaps in love with a man?" She stared at him waiting for an answer impatiently.

"Wha... what's wrong with being in love with a man?" He stuttered suddenly.

"There is nothing wrong with being in love with a man but if it's you there is something wrong with it," Layla said.

"What's wrong with me?"

"Aaah, jeez there is nothing wrong with you I can't believe you forgot about it. You have been hating gay people for years now since your father disappeared. So I'm quite surprised who or what made you change your mind so abruptly. You even battled with insomnia for years," Layla said.

"I haven't forgotten about it and who said I'm going to date a man?" Way spoke with his usual voice.

"In the past two days, you seemed to have changed it's like a teenager in love, I'm happy that you are finally opening up your heart but I want you to take it slow just in case you get heart once again," Layla tapped his shoulders as she said it.

"I'm not in love, can't I just look nice once in a while?" He denied but Layla knew him more than Way knew himself and one thing was for sure Way was in love with someone but he didn't know about it yet. He couldn't understand his feelings.

"It's okay, it's time to go back home, it's our off day tomorrow should we go out?" She asked him.

"No, I rather not I'll just sleep in we have been busy lately, I just want to rest and idle around the house," he replied.

"Fine, I'll come visit you when I have time,"

"What do you mean when you have time? It's our off day so you have the time, pass by the house my mom has been asking about you lately," Way chuckled softly.

"Fine, then I'll bother her with the meals," she said.

Everyone in the house knew Layla was a food lover. It was one of the things she couldn't say no and she enjoyed Way's mother's food the most. So each time she came to visit, she was mostly all about the food. Her parents were abroad so she lived alone and with their busy schedules, having home-cooked meals each day wasn't so easy.

"Yeah, we get it freeloader I'm going," Way said before walking out of their rest area. As he walked away, he couldn't help but think about what Layla had asked him.

"Am I really in love?" He asked no one in particular but in the real sense, he couldn't answer that question. After a while, he shook his head and settled for a no as an answer.

Way arrived home half an hour later, he walked into his house and found his mother in the kitchen.

"Way, you are back, I haven't seen you in two days why do you keep sleeping in the hospital? I'm sure you don't have time for meals," her mother walked out of the kitchen and then said.

"Mom, it's okay I have Layla with me plus we don't skip out meals we just get too busy," he replied trying to sound convincing. He had not been home and he spent most of his time in the hospital so coming back home was a hassle for him.

"Is that so?" Her mother watched his son scratch his nose subconsciously but didn't say anything.

"Yeah, I'm going to wash up and Layla will be here tomorrow,"

"Okay, go up dinner will be ready soon," she watched as Way walked away.

Way woke up in the afternoon the next day. He didn't have time to have much sleep plus he slept well during the day than at night. After tossing around his bed, he finally slept at 5:00 am. He walked out of his room fully showered and refreshed.

"Look at them, waking up in the afternoon," he heard his mother's voice as he walked into the kitchen.

"Way, Layla is here," he heard her yell once more.

"I'll go to him," Layla replied. Being familiar with their house, she followed him to the dining room. Wave had also just woken up a few minutes ago and was having her brunch.

"You two are indeed twins, waking up in the afternoon," Layla chuckled as she watched them.

"Join us Layla," Wave looked up.

"Why not, I couldn't say no to that," Layla smiled as she sat opposite Wave.

"I have something to talk about," Wave spoke after a while drawing their attention. Way and Layla's eyes locked into each other before turning to face Wave.

"What is it?" Way spoke first curiously.
