Chapter 10 I want the truth

Aidan drove away as soon as he had settled himself. After a couple of minutes, he pulled over in one of the designer stores and once again, Way was in awe.

"Are we going to shop here? I'm...I don't have any money on me and it's a bit expensive," Way spoke as he looked around.

"Who said you will be paying?" Aidan replied.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Doing what?" Aidan glanced at him.

"Being good to me? You need something in return right?" Way asked he wasn't sure of what will come out of his question but he took a gamble. He wanted to be sure of his intentions and to verify if what he thought was true or not.

"Yes, I want something in exchange," Aidan replied straightforwardly. Way's heart completely sunk for a second. Deep down he knew, someone like Aidan wouldn't just foolishly fall in love with someone he just met and someone like him a man. But he still wished that was the case at least. He knew he wasn't gay but he just hoped he thought otherwise.

"Are you okay?" Aidan asked seeing Way in daze.

"Aaah, yes what do you want to know?" Way replied.

"Everything, but first let's get you a change of clothes," Aidan said as he glanced at him.

"And shoes," he added. Way nodded his head in agreement walking around in pajamas and bunny slippers drew attention and that was one thing he hated. They walked into the mall with Aidan leading at the front. Way shrugged his shoes as he glanced at his back profile he couldn't fathom how or what he felt at that moment.

"President, what can we do for you today?" They heard as soon as they walked in. Way looked around the shop attendants standing in straight lines in front of them. He moved closer to Aidan and then whispered in his ears.

"Is the mall yours?"

"No, but I own 60% of the shares," he replied.

"60%? So you mean the whole mall is yours?" Way asked in slight shock. He knew he was rich but owning a mall that was something he couldn't believe.

"Let's go," Aidan replied totally ignoring him. He walked into the first store with the manager behind him.

"Get him some clothes," Aidan turned to the manager as he walked into the VIP section.

"Yes, President," the manager quickly replied before walking away.

"I don't think it's necessary, I'll just go try some it saves time," Way turned to Aidan and then said.

"Sit," Aidan replied neither coldly nor warmly. Way had no choice but to sit next to him.

A few minutes later, the manager walked in with the shop attendants each carrying various types of clothes. They lined and walked in one after the other and described the material cloth and brand.

Way couldn't help but glance at Aidan's side profile as he nodded from time to time giving indicators. After thirty minutes, Aidan had settled for a couple of pairs. He glanced at Way briefly and then spoke.

"Get him all those in medium size,"

"Yes, president," the manager replied as he walked away with the shop attendants.

"Medium? How did you know my size?" Way asked in slight surprise.

"I guessed, plus it's quite evident you are too skinny," Aidan replied nonchalantly.

"Tch! You really know how to kill the mood," Way murmured.

After a few minutes, the manager came back with the right sizes.

"Everything is ready President, should we package them for you?"

"Yeah," Aidan replied briefly before turning to Way.

"Go dress up,"

"Okay," he replied and then stood up. Way came back after a few minutes dressed elegantly into a dark blue three-piece suit.

"How do I look?" He asked as he stared at himself in the mirror.

"Let's get you some shoes," Aidan cleared his throat after a while and then stood up.

"Will it hurt you to just give me a compliment?" Way murmured softly before following him.

They walked into the next store and after getting shoes to pair with the suit, they walked back to the car.

"We are done, what next?" Way glanced at him.

"Now, I ask the questions you answer, tell me everything," he spoke.

"Can I get something to eat? I'm hungry,"

"Get in," Aidan replied as he walked to the driver's seat.

"What about the clothes?" Way glanced at the store and then asked.

"They will deliver at the house, don't worry,"

"Woah, is this how it feels being rich, powerful and handsome? What's your net worth anyway?" He couldn't help but ask.

"Why do you want to know?" Aidan asked as he started the car.

"No reason, I'm just curious is this how you get treated everywhere you go?" He asked again.

"Yeah, I'm the richest man in the country," Aidan replied nonchalantly.

"Tch! How can you say that with a straight face, where are we going to anyway?"

"My hotel,"

"Your hotel? So you own a mall, a hotel what else?" Way asked.

"We are here," Aidan replied as he parked the car.

Way looked around the luxurious hotel, from it's appearance it seemed to be a five star or a six star hotel.

"Let's go, what are you staring at?" He heard Aidan's cold voice.

"Sorry, I got caught up for a moment," he apologized and then followed him.

"Get used to it when you are with me," Aidan replied harshly.

"Can you try to be a little bit polite?"

"Why would I be polite you are nothing to me," Aidan stopped for a second before walking away. Way could feel a tinge of pain but deep down everything Aidan had said was nothing but the truth. He was nothing to him.

Truth be told, everything he did was just for show he had to it was for mutual benefit. The Aidan everyone knew wasn't too lenient.

"President, welcome your room is ready I'll walk you to it," the manager bowed slightly before walking ahead. Aidan had his specific private room reserved only for him at the top floor.

As they got into the elevator, Way could feel his veins tensing up slowly. He knew it was just a matter of time, but he had run out of options of buying himself time. What worried him the most was that, he had no way of going back home so he was stuck here.

Why is my life so miserable? He thought. He was dragged here each time Aidan was in danger but this time, he wasn't in danger so why was he dragged in? His mind was running wild with unending questions.

His thoughts were suddenly cut short when the elevator rung, they walked out in awkward silence. They walked into the private room and after Aidan had ordered a few delicacies he turned to him.

"Speak," he said.
