Chapter 15 Two against one

It was at that moment that he knew he was bursted.

"We can't trust him," Layla turned to Wave after a couple of seconds.

"Yeah, I know we can't," Wave said.

"What should we do now?" They had to find a solution as a back up at least.

"Come up with something at least, what do you have in mind?" Layla asked.

"Nothing, I need some time to think it through,"

"Hey guys, I'm still here don't treat me like air and I can be trusted I won't tell him I promise," Way couldn't take it anymore. They spoke as if he wasn't in the room totally ignoring his presence.

"Just shut up Way, this is serious business," Wave said not sparing him a single glance.

"Let's make a bet, do you dare?" Way spoke again.

"Are you sure? You literally lose every bet we make aren't you embarrassed enough?" Layla spoke earning her a laugh from Wave.

"This time it's different my life is on the line," he added.

"Oooh really?" Wave said.

"Yeah,"

"So what is it going to be Way, what do you want to place a bet on since your life is on the line the stakes should be something worth betting for. Don't you think so?" Layla said with a smirk.

"Yeah, why not," Way said confidently.

"Will you be able to take it? I'm going big and grand Way,"

"Bring it on, I'll be able to take it don't worry," Way was as confident as ever.

"Fine, you said it no take backs,"

"Fine, no take backs I don't do such don't worry," he replied.

"I want your baby," Layla said proudly as she wat he'd his reactions.

"My baby? Hell no do you know how much effort I kept just to have it?" Way stood up as he explained. It was his most prized possession.

"Yeah, I know that's why I want it, like I told you earlier the stakes are high as this isn't just the normal type of deal, it is a matter of life and death Way," Layla ranted.

"Yeah, Way plus you promised remember? You were the one who suggested it anyway are you going to forfeit it now? You suggested everything shouldn't you at least keep your promise as a man? Huuh? Good men keep promises..." Wave went on but was suddenly interrupted.

"Fine, I get it now stop," Way yelled slightly he couldn't take it anymore. He glanced at the two girls and finally understood why they were good friends when it came to ganging up against him, they did it very well.

"Nice," Wave and Layla glanced at each other and silently threw a smile. Layla knew Way wouldn't give up his baby that easily so the moment she said all that, she kind of knew and hoped Wave would naturally back her up which eventually meant two against one. And it always worked each time. The reason why she used his baby as a leverage was because that was the only thing Way valued most. He was a lover of superbikes but since he couldn't afford one, he saved a large some of money for years just to get himself the motorbike.

It wasn't a superbike but it was still an expensive motorbike maybe too expensive based on their average family. It had already been a year since he had it. He treasured it deeply and not even his sister had been on it. He even went on as far as referring to it as his baby and son.

"So, will you hand your son over?" Layla asked.

"Yeah, I will deal?" Way said reluctantly. If he was told that one day he would bet against his son, he would totally laugh it off and shake the matter away. But here he was now, his son's life was in his hand. He stared into deep space for a while trying to contemplate before Layla's voice rang.

"So it's set, if Way reveals the secret we get his son,"

"Yaay, I get to finally sit on it," Wave smiled at the thought of it.

"Wait, what if I don't? What do I get? Shouldn't the same apply to you? Why do you benefit from it alone, I also want to benefit from the deal," Way complained.

"Ooh, you do?" Layla mocked him slightly.

"He is just frustrated let him be," Wave couldn't help but say.

"That's not it, I'm not frustrated," Way objected.

"There they go again," Wave said silently. She knew she had opened a forum for their bickering at some point, she felt Way and Layla bickered even more than her and Way.

"You are, it's clearly visible that you are," Layla argued.

"I'm not, what makes you say that?" He eyed Layla furiously.

"The fact that your voice is slightly at a high pitch, you keep shifting uncomfortably in your seat, your eye brows are crouched should I keep saying?" Layla said keenly observing him. They had been friends for years so it was evident he knew him so well. Way was someone who couldn't hide his frustrations.

"Fine, let's say I am so what?" He fired up. He knew he was bursted but the thought of loosing against Layla was something he didn't want.

"Nothing, I'm just saying why are you getting mad?" Layla pointed it out.

"I'm not, anyway don't try to change the subject I'm still onto you, what do I get in return?"

"Anything, just choose," Layla said softly.

"That's it? It's too easy," he complained.

"Yeah, I don't have a son or a daughter that I value so you can choose whatever you want. So what do you want?" Layla asked.

"Nothing, just let it be,"

"Fine, as you wish," she replied.

"Way go get us water," Wave suddenly spoke.

"Why should I?" He argued again.

"So should I? You are the guy here shouldn't you be a gentleman for once?" Wave raised her eye brows.

"A gentleman? Pfffftt, him?" Layla bursted out in laughter and then continued," he can't let him keep dreaming,"

"Dreaming? I can be a gentleman do you think I will act like one with you? You aren't my type of girl rowdy, rude and never mind," Way said.

"Ooh, really am I? You aren't my type of boy also tch! You are rude, not manly enough and not a gentleman," Layla replied proudly.

"I'll go get you water, I'll show you how manly and how gently I can be just wait," he stood up and then walked out his shoulders raised proudly.

"Take your time," Layla yelled at his back.

"You did that on purpose didn't you?" Wave asked after he had gone.

"Yeah," Layla said with a laugh. Way was the kind of person who liked arguing and would never loose in one so the only way to get him to do something was that.

Wave raised her thumbs with a nod.

"Now let's talk about plan B," Wave said after a few seconds.
