Cold Shivers

The bright camera flashes took some getting used to. Maddison stood incredibly still next to Elias as the paparazzi shot photographs of them from every possible angle.

"How do you do this without your cheeks cramping?" She asked Elias while maintaining her smile.

"You're smiling too wide, no wonder your cheeks are getting tired," He mused.

He had one hand around her waist. When he found the perfect opportunity, he guided her away from the paparazzi.

"Finally! Thank you," Maddison heaved a sigh of relief when they were finally out of the media's sight.

Elias brought her over to the refreshments bar to get a drink.

"What would you like?" He asked while leaning against the bar table.

Maddison pondered for a moment, "Surprise me."

He ordered two cocktails, one of each of them, and handed Maddison hers.

"Cheers. You survived part one of the evening," Elias said as they toasted glasses.
