Chapter 26

“Yes, mother, that bastard is gone for good; he must be on his way to prison now.”

Terry utters

“what!! You mean that bastard returned home last night? I don't believe you.”

Before Terry could respond to Jessica, Damien entered the house. Everyone was shocked when they saw Damien.

They looked at Damien with wide eyes; they couldn't believe he was back; he wasn't supposed to be here.

Megan wasn't in the house. Damien looks relieved; he doesn't want her to see what's going to happen soon.

“Bastard, what are you doing here? Why didn't you tell the police this is not were you leave?”

Lady Helen yelled at Damien; she believes the police must have followed him here to ask questions. Dennis went outside to see if the police were with him, and he was shocked to see nobody was with Damien.

He came back inside with a slightly shaking voice.

“Mother, nobody came with him; could it be that he was set free?”

Damien's cheeks moved a little, and he decided to break the news to them.

“Yes, I'm free; they let me go and apologized for accusing me wrongly. You all can stop the celebration now that I'm back.”

“And you expect us to believe you; maybe you escaped, or...”

Lady Helen couldn't complete her words; she was overjoyed a few moments ago, but this bastard has ruined her mood completely. She clenched her fist hard.

Damien knows they won't believe him, which makes him even happier.

Doris couldn't believe the bastard returned to the house.

“Victoria promised her son was going to send Damien to prison. What happened? Why is he here”

Doris murmured to herself:

Damien moved closer to the table.

“I can see you guys must have hated me so much; you even celebrated my arrest. That is very nice of you.”

Damien sits at the table and takes food for himself.

“Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, this chicken is delicious.”

“Bastard, drop that food now, you hungry fool!”

Lady Helen yelled at Damien, but he didn't listen to her; he continued.

“Bastard!”

“You bastard!!”

They all looked at Damien disgusted. Lady Helen was expecting Jessica to deal with Damien; she seemed to be the only one that could stand up to him. She looked in Jessica's direction, and her face was down.

Jessica couldn't say anything; she couldn't believe Damien was still alive.

“How can this be possible? How can this bastard still be alive? If Jordan and Lori got that amount of beating that made them go into coma, how did this bastard survive that? He must've runaway.”

She said to herself

Sir Bernard couldn't believe the bastard was set free.

“How did that happen? I must get this bastard out of this family quickly. If what Doris said to me was true, it means Terry was also telling me the truth this morning.”

He murmured to himself.

Doris had informed Sir Bernard about her encounter with Lawrence Vincent. Sir Bernard wanted to do something different; he knows Terry didn't offer Damien a big deal.

“Young man, come forward.”

He pointed at Damien.

“I know you want money for you to leave this family, and I'm willing to offer you $500,000 and a car to leave this family quietly.”

Damien was surprised that Sir Bernard was saying the same thing Terry had told him this morning. This people thinks he needs money; their wealth won't even cover his fingernails.

He looks at Sir Bernard in disbelief and continues his meal.

Sir Bernard noticed Damien didn't say anything, so he decided to offer him more.

“Okay, okay, you still want more; I will give you $1 million and a car.”

Damien was still keeping quiet. Dennis squeezed his fists; he couldn't believe this bastard was trying to get more money off his father just because of that worthless Megan.

Jessica got herself back, and she yelled at Damien.

“Bastard!! Who do you think you are? I won't let you get a thing from this family, Bastard?”

Jessica stands up and points at Demian.

“This bastard must have been going around looking for a rich family daughter to rape; he knows they would be so ashamed of themselves to report to the police, and they will offer him money to shut his mouth. That is what he does.”

her fist squeezed.

“No wonder you're going around spending the money lavishly; you won't be getting anything from us; you just messed with the wrong family.”

Dennis quickly joins her sister.

“Father, Jessica is right; we shouldn't give him anything; that is what he's looking for.”

He pointed at Terry and Doris.

“I'm sure both of them are just lying to us about his arrest, father. I suggest we involve the police ourselves; this bastard is trying to play games with us.”

Terry quickly uttered

“Father, I saw it with my own eyes; the police took him away–.”

Dennis cut Terry's off.

“Father, don't worry yourself too much; I have someone who can send this bastard to jail immediately we just have to offer him little money this bastard is gone.”

Lady Helen knows the money was too much, but if truly Lawrence Vincent is interested in Megan, that money is nothing compared to what they will be getting if both of them eventually get married.

Her Birthday is around the corner, and she knows what she will be getting from that family alone. Involving the police might make them find out what happened to Megan; it's better to keep it a secret and offer Damien what he wants. If he still refuses, she can use Dennis advice and quickly whisper something to her husband.

Sir Bernard agreed with his wife and decided to increase his offer to Damien.

“I'm going to give you $5 million, and with a house, leave this family immediately.”

Damien glanced at everybody's faces; they were eager for his words, but they would get none. He faced his meal again.

Sir Bernard couldn't stand Damien's keeping quiet, so he decided to offer him his last offer.

“I will double my last offer; I will give you $10 million to leave this family and keep your mouth shut.”

Damien decided to speak out.

“I'm not going to leave my wife and my unborn child. I don't care how much you offer me; money is not my problem.”

Everybody's eyes widen with shock; they can't believe Damien rejected ten million dollars, and he said something very stupid: for a pauper that wears faded clothes, how can he say that money is not his problem? Can he even boast of $10, 000?

Sir Bernard has had enough. He yelled at Dennis.

“Call that someone of yours immediately; I want this bastard to rot in jail! I don't care how much it cost me.”

Jessica was full of joy; she knows this bastard can't escape this time. Terry's cheeks were covering his eyes; finally, this bastard will be gone forever.

Dennis brought out his phone and spoke.

“Captain Logan. I want you in my father house now.”
