Chapter 11: Training warm-ups
"Do you all think that it's better to be enslaved and defiled by these aliens instead of fighting and upholding our dignity as a human race?" Country Leader No. 1 retorted.
"Imagine how we'd turn out. I can't even begin to imagine what fate awaits us all by just surrendering." Country Leader No. 1 sighed before abruptly leaving the meeting, turning off his connection. He decided to rally his troops and protect his people to the end of his abilities.
After the declaration, the commander of the fleet descended here on Earth somewhere at the center of Russia.
"Begin bombarding this planet until the majority of the creatures on land are decimated. Then capture the remaining survivors and lock them up for research and genetic reproduction." The commander ordered using the intercom.
Though they said all those conditions earlier, these invaders didn't have an intention of letting anyone off if they surrendered, especially since the commander are getting impatient as he only has limited time of 3 days to flip this place and acquire a piece of the pie.
In the next few minutes, while the rest of the world leaders are still discussing fervently how they'll initiate the surrender and how will they converse with these invaders.
When suddenly massive gathering of lights filled the sky as if all of it were miniature suns that were pointed towards Earth.
In the next 5 seconds, an intense humming all around the world could be heard as all the energy cannons and massive electromagnetic weapons were fully charged and ready to fire, The lights from the barrels of these weapons intensified to another level and were fired simultaneously.
All of the people who are watching the sky waiting for what will happen next are horrified by the sudden move of the invaders, they did not expect at all that they would just immediately decimate all the landmasses.
With the impending doom that's only seconds away, all humans just braced themselves awaiting their deaths, some cursing the heavens at how unfair the universe is, and some mulling their regrets.
At the very last moment, just as the beams and projectiles are about to enter the atmosphere of Earth, a dim and light transparent barrier materialized just at the very edge of the exosphere.
The barrier that appeared stopped the progression of all beams and projectiles that were threatening to damage the planet, dumbfounding the commander of the fleet and the rest of his subordinates.
First of all, they did not expect that this planet would even have any protection or defense mechanism at all, it's more unbelievable as this planet is only ruled by a class 1 civilization and they managed to erect and operate a shield of this level that can stop a combined attack equivalent to that of a celestial disciple.
Everything that is currently happening cannot escape Xu Han's eyes of course, "This planet is indeed hiding something for someone to protect this place extensively. I thought the areas where the 7 wonders of the world are situated are the only unusual ones, I didn't expect and did not even detect that there's a barrier protecting this planet from obvious external attacks."
Xu Han was already prepared to intervene, had those beams and projectiles descended lower and closer to land entering the Earth's atmosphere.
"Yue Xue should have assimilated his strength after a few minutes by now, I'll have him train his combat strength and warm up using these pests before the big ants arrive. Though I doubt they'd be able to last long against my first disciple." Xu Han laughed heartily and was carefree knowing that he didn't even have to lift a finger this time, which is a great relief.
"What the fuck? there's a barrier strong enough to stop all of my fleet's weapons from firing altogether. This planet is really strange, how come I'm able to enter without any problems?" The commander himself was puzzled by this sudden development.
"I guess I'll have to scrap my original plan to scheme and plan out the scene. I'll have to do everything using my own hands if I don't want to delay things any longer." The commander decided.
He was just about to unleash havoc on this continent alone when he sensed that someone was spying on him from behind.
He dashed forward to create some distance from the unknown being that was locked onto him from somewhere behind, "Who's there!? Who are you!? How are you able to sneak so close behind me without me noticing!??"
"You're a bit decent for an ant, you managed to detect me when I released just a bit of my aura and intent." The figure shrouded in darkness with ripples of space distortion surrounding his body said.
The commander was caught off guard right that moment, he did not expect that someone of his level also exist in this place. Judging the strength of the figure shrouded in darkness it was only the same level as him, a spiritual adept.
The figure covered by darkness is Yu Xue himself, His master gave him the order to practice his control of darkness and spatial laws with the invader that descended here, and he should also restrict his cultivation level to the same level as the invader. Unless he needed to reveal his true strength for a valid purpose.
"What a coward you are hiding your face and identity, don't think that just because you possess a bit of an advanced masteries over darkness and spatial laws, it's enough to faze me when we're only at the same level of strength!" The commander angrily stated, trying to regain the loss of face from the embarrassment earlier.
"If you want to fight just fight. Do what you are best at doing, using your brawns and muscles over your brains. Quit yapping." Yue Xue ridiculed the commander with a chuckle.
"Since you're courting death then I'll send you on your way!" The commander snorted and then disappeared from where he was standing appearing only 1.5 meters away from Yu Xue sending a fist with some sort of martial technique that combines fire and light elements achieving incredibly fast and destructive attacks using his bare fists.
Yu Xue was astonished for a second, "So this is how cultivators fight? Amazing indeed, but also lethal." as if it was his natural body response before the fist technique that punched him entered his half-meter range, Yu Xue's body already dived deeper into the darkness retreating a couple of steps before naturally activating his spatial talent and entering the 4th fold of space navigating it so fast he has already dodged the attack and has moved a couple of meter to the left side from where he was originally standing.
The commander was confident with his technique as this was the fastest and strongest one that he possessed and could use, it was not even if his opponent had natural talents of darkness and spatial laws, as this technique of his was the nemesis and perfect counters for assassins and enemies who possess such elemental affinities and talents. But the commander is bound to be disappointed because not only was his opponent a few major realms higher than him in original strength, but even if he was not and is also at the spiritual adept level, he still possessed top-tier darkness and spatial talent that has the potential to reach dimensional level ruler.
"Who asked you to sneak up on me? Such a waste of talent, I could've recruited you to join the empire and you'll be able to explore the place of our galaxy." The commander said with a hint of pity as he watched the dust settle revealing the decimated areas in a fan-shaped area, destroying and flattening all the mountains within the range of the explosion.
"Recruit me? You're not worthy, nor the empire you speak of. My master's methods are something you ants can't comprehend." Yu Xues said with visible disdain even though his face was covered by misty swirling particles of darkness.
Hearing the voice of the shadow figure once again, the commander's eyes widened. "This guy can dodge and survive my fastest attack?" The commander felt his hair stand on its end. This person was not someone he could deal with, especially when he realized that just now this guy mentioned that he had a master; The commander knew that he had to leave this place immediately.
"Already having the thoughts to escape? I don't think so, stay here." Yu Xue said with certainty as he could sense what this guy had in his mind.
Before the commander could fly up to the sky a heavy mental suppression enveloped him making him unable to move at all, that's when realized another thing, and looked at Yu Xue's figure in horror.
"You're actually at the Daoist sage level! YOU HID YOUR STRENGTH THIS ENTIRE TIME!" The commander gritted his teeth in despair.
"So what? An ant like you dares to trespass our place. Since you've already done your purpose, I'll send you on your way!" Yu Xue stated a matter of fact.
"Don't force my hand and let me go! I could even put in a few good words for you and your planet when the main fleet arrives, I still have a trump card that I don't want to use since it's such a waste using it on this tiny planet!" The commander threatened Yu Xue while he was still sweating profusely.
The difference in strength was just that great, Yu Xue's strength was 2 major realms above his own, The commander knew that if he wanted to survive and get out of there alive he needed to trick the other party, or he would have to use that trump card he holds.
