Alex nodded understanding, gesturing towards the office windows overlooking the bustling city below. He was a man in his early forties, and though Penelope had seen him before her father's passing, she never had a chance to know Alex personally. 

"We've made some changes in the past months to streamline our operations and focus on innovation," he explained a hint of pride in his tone. "But your presence here will undoubtedly bring the company a new perspective and direction. I look forward to working with you."

"I hope we're not disturbing anything important, Mr. Caldwell," Raven spoke up, his voice calm and measured as he observed the man before them.

Alex Caldwell shook his head quickly. 

"Not at all, Mr. Hendrix. We were just going over some quarterly reports."

"I'm glad to hear that things are running smoothly. It must have been hard for you to keep the company afloat for years." Penelope interjected, her tone polite with a hint of gratitude.
