You Could Never Disappoint Me (1)

When she was younger, Penelope used to follow her father around. No matter how her mother tried to dissuade her, she always found herself sneaking after him, her tiny feet padding softly on the carpeted floor of his massive office in Brilliancia. Her father would only laugh at her antics, lifting her from the ground and settling her on his lap as he worked. Penelope would watch with wide eyes as he tinkered with gadgets and gizmos, taking them apart and putting them back together easily.

Now, as she stood at Alex's office for her first day at work, a sense of nostalgia washed over her. Alex greeted her warmly, gesturing for her to sit across from him at the sleek glass desk.

Alex handed her a stack of papers as she settled into the leather chair.

"I'm so glad to have you on board, Penelope," Alex said, his eyes filled with excitement. "I hope you're ready to dive in and start working on some new projects."
