First Day in another World

[Description of Time Shield]

Time Shield is a unique skill bestowed upon its wielder from another world, crafted by a god. This skill possesses the ability to evolve, either in response to necessity or as the user progresses in level.

Its primary function is to safeguard the user's body from the ravages of time, enhancing its efficiency. For instance, while an ordinary body requires three meals a day, a user with Time Shield at tier 1 would only need to eat once every two days. Similarly, the user can be in good shape with just two days of sleep. Additionally, at its first tier, the Time Shield skill can also slow physical projectiles coming to the user's body.

This skill operates passively, requiring no activation or conscious effort to maintain its effects. It remains perpetually active, even when the user is unconscious.

Overpowered!" was my only thought to this skill. Or could it be that such skills are normal for this world and that's the reason why God gave it to me to survive here? I guess that's also a possibility but I don't think I'll find out soon since I saw a map of the dark forest. It's called "Dark Lands of Shadows" The foreboding name alone suggests peril within its depths, with no villages or cities nearby, the nearest settlement lying a daunting two-week journey from the forest's edge. "So I will have to find my way to surviving here. And I'll start traveling when I learn enough about this world."

Lost in thought, I failed to notice the gradual lightening of the sky outside until the sun's rays finally pierced through the window. With finally daylight upon me, I could start exploring my surroundings. But this time I'll not go too far from the house since I have no clue what could wait for me in the forest. Before I would go deeper I had to get some methods to defend myself and if needed to attack. It was time to delve into the pages of the beginner's magic.

Standing before the wooden door, I pushed it open with a cacophony of creaks and groans, letting my heart racing, I reminded myself to remain calm, reassuring myself that there was nothing to fear.

Peering outside, I beheld a landscape dominated by towering trees, their leafy canopies stretching as far as the eye could see. On the left side, there stood another wooden building. Surrounded by so many trees, I felt like the only person in this wild place.

Looking out at the peaceful but also scary view, I felt unsure about my next step. Every sound from the leaves made me curious about the secrets of this place. It felt like the forest was inviting me to explore. Like a giant monster waiting for another human to get trapped.

Taking a deep breath, I stepped out into the fresh morning air. As I walked along the path covered in plants, I couldn't shake the feeling that someone or something was watching me. The thick bushes hid possible dangers lurking nearby. But I couldn't see anything in them no matter how long I was staring at them.

Once more I decided for me to learn more about this mysterious world. I had a bunch of special skills, and a room of knowledge covering my back and helping me. That should be enough to at least survive out here.

I went to the door on the right side of the wooden building, my curiosity pulling me deeper into its recesses. With a push, the weathered door swung open, revealing a dimly lit and musty interior.

Inside, I stepped into an antiquated kitchen, the air heavy with the scent of aged wood and dust. The room was illuminated by the feeble light filtering through grimy windows, casting long shadows across the worn wooden surfaces.

The kitchen appeared frozen in time, its furnishings bearing the marks of years of use and neglect. A large wooden table, weathered and scratched, dominated the center of the room, surrounded by rickety chairs with frayed cushions.

Against one wall stood a stone hearth, its once-grand mantle now coated in a layer of grime and soot.

Despite its decrepit appearance, there was a certain charm to the kitchen, a glimpse into a bygone era. It was a place frozen in time, waiting to be rediscovered and brought back to life.

After looking around and slowly losing interest I moved back to the room with the many books.

Returning to the room full of books, I felt a chill run down my spine. Among the dusty old books, my eyes landed on the one on the table about magic. It reminded me of what I had to do today – start learning magic in this strange new world.

I sat at the table, the wood groaning beneath me, and carefully opened the book. Its pages felt like dried leaves, crackling as I turned them.

I felt as though the book might disappear or crumble at any moment. In ancient, ornate letters, the title of the first page read: 'Magic for Beginners.' Beneath it, in small, cryptic letters, a warning was inscribed:

'Be aware.'

I almost overseen these little words. There was no further explanation for these two simple yet ominous words.
