The early morning chirping of the birds woke me up. I dug around on the bed and my hand hit a cold body. I tried to sit up on the bed and then remembered that I was not home but in Nikolai’s bedroom.
“Sh*t,” I whispered. Nikolai pulled me close to his body.
“Are you trying to run away after you seduced me all night, Ivan?” His voice reached my ears.
“Why the f*ck is your body this cold?” I responded to deflect from his insinuations. I tried to free myself from his clutches.
“Ivan,” he called my name.
My body stilled and then I turned to look at him. His long hair was now a mess. The bun was gone, and his eyes had a different color from gray to hazel as the sun's rays hit his face. His lips looked pink, and my eyes remained glued to them. I raised my eyes back to his and saw the twinkle in his eyes.
“What?” I responded.
