The SUV idled at the corner of Callum’s office building. I could feel Vivian nearby. She was definitely there. Her emotions were all over the place.
My fingers curled on the steering wheel and my knuckles turned white. My wolf itched to get out. He was ready to defend his mate. So was I.
I gripped the steering wheel tighter. The timing for this had to be perfect.
Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
“Are you done?” I asked Luce.
“I just got confirmation from Asher and Declan. They got Axel and Wesley. I took care of Nolan.”
“Good.”
Luce sighed heavily. That wasn’t a good sign.
“How are Felix and Emmett?”
“I haven’t been back to check on them.”
“Then why are you sighing?”
“Aiden got away. He’s… well, you know he’s going to call Callum immediately and tell him what’s going on. Vivian is…”
I smirked. “Oh, don’t worry, Luce. Aiden isn’t a threat. He’ll come running straight here and I’ll be waiting for him.”
“Do you want backup? I can come.”
