The Lady Is In Trouble

Lara chuckled, but she didn't say anything because she knew Aaron was right. They arrived at the restaurant, and she bought waffles, omelets, and pancakes. They were going to have a good meal because they didn't know when they would have an opportunity anymore.

When she was done, she turned to Jet and said, "We will attend the activity tonight; where does it take place?"

Jet smiled. "Just in front of the restaurant."

"Good, see you then," she smiled at him and walked back to the apartment.

-

She served the breakfast, and Tyler joined her. "Where is Aaron?" she whispered, and he pointed at his bedroom door.

"Do you think we were harsh?" she asked, and Tyler shook his head in denial.

"He is not angry," he assured her. "How do you know that?"

"Because he is not one to get angry over petty stuff." Tyler sighed before he picked up a pancake and started eating. Aaron walked out of his bedroom and joined them.

They ate in silence because of the awkward atmosphere, but it was not that awkward for Aaron, as he loved the silence.

He swiped through his phone while eating. "Umm, I told Jet that we would be present at the event." Lara broke the silence with her gaze stuck on Aaron. But he had no reaction.

"Tyler, will you attend?" She asked Tyler, who nodded. "I need some entertainment in my life," he chuckled.

Then she turned to Aaron and asked, "What about you?"

"No," he replied at once, and she clenched her fist with a pout. Why was he so difficult? She thought.

"Just admit that you are an antisocial person; you are scared of crowds," Lara decided to irritate him.

"That's right" Aaron knew that if he retorted, it would extend the conversation, but he didn't want that.

"You are scared of ladies," she added, and Aaron still agreed.

"He is just scared that he is not cool," Tyler added, and Aaron stared at him.

"When you both are back from the event, then we will check on the next mission," he said, staring at the watch in his hand before he walked back to his bedroom and locked the door.

"He is such a jerk," Lara muttered, and she jumped on the couch.

**

She spent the whole day watching dramas and eating while Tyler was busy on the desktop, playing video games, and also studying new software.

For Aaron, he simply read some books, played music on his phone, and fell asleep. They all needed the relaxation.

It was 6 p.m., so Lara freshened up and slipped into the pretty short gown she got. Then she stared at her reflection in the mirror.

The dresses she could only admire on her sister were now hers; she was dressed so classic with expensive slippers that it could be said that she was from some rich family.

Tyler knocked on her door, and she pulled it open. He was dressed in a big t-shirt and big trousers, just like the tech guy he was.

"A dress looks good on you," he complimented, and she smiled. "Now I regret cutting my hair," she pouted, and she promised herself never to cut her hair.

"Let's go." They both walked out of the house, not in a jovial mood because Aaron wasn't coming with them.

"Why won't he just come? Will it cost him anything?" Lara scoffed, but Tyler didn't respond.

"Hey, don't blab about us to others, okay?" Tyler warned her earlier because he knew how talkative she was.

"I understand, and if they ask about our parents, then what do we say?" She asked, and they needed to have matching answers.

After Tyler thought for a while, he came up with something: "They are doctors without borders and are hardly around; all they do is send us money."

"Smart," Lara acknowledged.

They finally arrived in front of the restaurant; there was a fire at the center, and there were also some men on bikes.

The ladies also dressed so classic, and then they spotted Jet, who was dressed in black jeans and a jacket. "Hey, you guys made it," he called out to them.

Tony walked towards them, and he took the mic. "So you are the newcomers?" he asked, and Tyler scoffed.

"Use a louder speaker; we can't get you," he said, angry at the fact that the guy had to use a mic to speak to them.

"We are new," Lara replied, giving Tyler a warning glare.

"I heard you were three; where is the other guy? He caused me a lot of trouble yesterday." Tony frowned, remembering how Aaron had made him lose some money while gambling.

"He arrived just yesterday and already caused trouble." Lara chuckled lightly before she said, "He isn't well, so he is resting."

"A lot of us are not well, but we decided to honor this day; if he doesn't show up, then he is against us," Tony said, and everyone agreed. Jet walked to him and chuckled.

"Let's get to the entertainment; we could talk about this later."

Tony nodded. "After the bike race, we will have a stripping show from any random lady." Tony winked at Lara. Tyler stood in front of her, and this made Tony laugh harder.

"Come, you both should stand over there to watch the race." Jet directed them to the other end, where they could see clearly.

The goons kept staring at Lara with dirty looks. "Why did you have to put on something that revealing?" he muttered, and she felt uncomfortable.

"This is what everyone puts on; just that men here are so stupid." She rolled her eyes. Her dress wasn't that exposed.

The men climbed on their bikes, ready to start the competition; the ladies screamed their voices out and drank alcohol; others were smoking and taking drugs.

"Do you take drugs?" Lara whispered to Tyler, who shook his head in denial.

"What about alcohol?"

"I drink alcohol," he replied, and she smiled. "I will get us two beers." She turned to leave when he held her hand.

"Stay here; I will go get it."

He jumped down and walked to the counter at the far end, which served beer. "Two bottles, please," he ordered, then a lady bummed into him. "Sorry." She apologized and stared at her hand; she was holding a paper.

Tyler took the paper, and he understood that she didn't want others to see it. So he opened the paper below the table, and it read, "Take the lady out of here; there is a newcomer ritual, and it's never favorable to the girl."

He read it with wide eyes, then his gaze moved to Lara, who was with Tony and some other guys.

He retracted his phone and sent a message to Aaron. [Lara is in trouble.]

Then he hurried towards her. "Hey," he said, holding her hand, and Tony smiled.
