Chap 16: Trouble

My eyes swept across the carpet with gold embroidery, a chandelier hanging on the ceiling. Flowy curtains and an exquisite fireplace all sat in place. Unfamiliar paintings hung on the walls, the luxurious decor had my mouth hanging open. Her brother sure has got great taste in interior designs.

"Welcome to the real VIP friend!" I forced myself to tear my gaze away from the beautiful decor to Anabelle's grinning face.

"Well, your brother sure is something." I muttered to myself but she heard me judging by the way she chuckled.

"If you think this is great, wait until you see our room." Athena grinned and nudged her head towards a corridor that sat near a plain kitchen, opposite to the one downstairs.

"You're room!" They both nodded their heads simultaneously walking before me.

"Athena and I have known each other since we we're in diapers. When my dad build this place, I begged him to let us have a room here-" I nodded at her words, taking in the beautifully painted huge hallway. I could practically hear her voice echo. We suddenly stopped in front of a big pink door. Athena pushed the door but it didn't budge. Confused lines creased her forehead as she tried twisting the doorknob to no vail.

"Oh shoot! I forgot to bring the key." Anabelle slapped her forehead and groaned stomping her heels on the floor.

"Of course you did! Now he's gonna kill us and it'd all for nothing." Athena seethed through her teeth marching towards the living room.

"I'm sorry Isabella, I promise to bring you back." Anabelle said worried lines creasing her features.

"Hopefully you'll live through Athena's wrath." I chuckled lightly as I heard Athena yell something about imminent death.

"She's the last person I'm worried about friend." I grinned at her and nodded my head. We both walked towards the living room and found Athena sprawled out on the huge couch.

"I thought you we're a mile away by now." Anabelle, whom I've decided to nickname Belle, mumbled sitting down with Athena's long tan legs on her lap.

"I want to make my stay here worth it if I'm going to get in trouble for it later." Athena groaned shifting to a better position. I stood awkwardly looking at them both, their little bickering and cute conversations reminding me of Emily and Soph...

"-:earth to Isabella." I snapped my gaze back to the two gorgeous souls in front of me. "-what the hell are you thinking about!"

"Oh, sorry. I was just thinking about my friends." They both frowned in sync. Athena nudged her head for me to come closer, I walked towards her and carried her head before placing it on my lap.

"What about them!" She asked looking up at me. I sighed, taking in the warmth of the couch on my butt. I only wished I could take these heels off to feel the soft carpet between my toes.

"You two remind me so much of the both of them. We've been friends since I moved here and been inseparable ever since."

"Aww, that's so cute!" Ana cooed smiling at me. We all settled in a comfortable silence, soft jazz music filling the un lively atmosphere. I subconsciously started pulling on Athena's soft curls softly before fully massaging her scalp.

"I'm starting to doubt this is all in the club." I said, humming to the soft jazz soundtrack playing from God knows where. I never thought I liked Jazz music until now.

"Technically, its not." Athena mussed wiggling her eye brows at me.

Huh?

I frowned down at her "Why are you being weird."

Ana snorted in an un lady like manner. "Welcome to my life."

"Wha-:" Athena sat up straight startling me. She looked at Belle with a horrified expression and I frowned.

"What is wrong wit-:" Their hands came flying to my mouth, shushing me as if I we're a dog.

"He's here!" Belle whispered staring at the elevator with wide eyes. Ath and I followed her line of sight to the see little numbers swiping, the elevator was coming up. They shot to their feet pulling me with them.

"C'mon guys, he can't be that bad." I said standing up.

"Hopefully, you won't find out." Athena whisper yelled as she ran on her heels to hide behind the kitchen island, Ana hid behind the couch.

"Don't just stand there, find somewhere to hide you're ass." I nodded my head. I took off my heels and threw them at her. I'd be damned if I walked in these again. I ran towards the hallway and started opening every door to no vail. I heard the elevator ding as I sprang towards the last room in the corner. I heaved a sigh of relief as I heard the familiar click. I quickly entered closing the door softly behind me.

"Where the hell do I hide!" I mumbled to myself as I stared at the dimly lit office in front of me. A computer with an apple logo behind sat on an overly expensive mahogany table, there we're dark curtains closed behind the table and a big chair, black furniture all around the room. I noticed a big TV screen showing every corner in the club, the small room downstairs and this one. I let out a yelp as I caught sight of what looked like a man wearing a big jacket with a golden snake craved behind walking towards the hallway. The camera must've been in front of the elevator because his back was the only thing in view. I looked around the office and opted to hide behind the curtains for now. There we're long and big enough to cover to cover someone twice my size. As soon as I stepped behind it, the doors flew open and I let out a yelp. I immediately covered my mouth and tried to get my breathing even. A clicking sound echoed through the office as the person walked towards... Me!

My eyes went wide in surprise but let out a breath of relief as I heard him sit in the huge chair. A little light made way through the curtain and I squinted my eyes in confusion. I opened a little space and found the man sitting directly in front of me, with only like a foot distance between us. He was scrolling through what looked like a tablet before he roughly arose on his feet, I quickly went back to my position. I heard him walk around his huge chair, I squinted my eyes through the curtains and saw his figure leaning on the table and may I add, FACING IN MY DIRECTION.

I panicked as I thought of all the ways I could get in trouble for coming here and hoped this strange man will take pity on me. Who I'm I kidding, he made his own sister mop these floors. He'll probably do worse to me. My thoughts we're cut short as I felt the curtains start to open up, I closed my eyes and waited for the inevitable.

"What the fuck?" My eyes flew open at the familiar voice.

"Killian!" I gasped, my mouth hanging wide open in surprise.
